I've got three of these, and they're great. They seem to last forever, but I broke one's end cap by dropping it, and I wanted a spare to leave in my travel toilet kit.
The last one I received had the timer, which is kind of silly. It stutters after a minute (I timed it).
One downside is the heads, which wear out and are expensive. [...] sells them in bulk, though...

We have used for many years and like the battery powered oral-b because it doesn't clutter up our bathroom countertop like the rechargeable. When our first ones had failed (after years of faithful and heavy use) we had purchased new at local store. None to be found this time, except on-line and glad we don't have to resort to rechargeable.Customer Review: Travel Brush

This is battery operated and if your at work or on the road. This is perfect as a tool to clean the teeth well as the action will work better the conventional brushes. The rotating head offers a more effect cleaning. It is fun too. Power of the head is much lees than the units with the charger base, however is good for a quick whitening.Customer Review: Nice and good value

Nice toothbrush that brushes well, and the timer is useful. However, as this is my third one, found out the life span is about a year or so. The mode of failure varies - one time just stopped working, o-ring failure and water infiltration, one time on/off button failed and unable to stop it!Customer Review: Excellent So Far

I have a rechargeable Oral B toothbrush, but wanted to buy an inexpensive, alkaline powered brush to use on my frequent business trips. So far this brush is performing as well as its higher-torque sibling. If the batteries last as long as they say (three months), I'll be a happy camper.
