Customer Reviews of Oral-B Professional Care 3000 Electric Power Toothbrush(Two Power Handles)Customer Review: Excellent, but... Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great product and all the reviews for the single-unit ProfessionalCare 8850 DLX being sold on amazon apply.
The only difference between this and the single-unit version is that this one has two power handles, but still only a single charging base. This isn't really a problem at all since the battery life is more than a week if you brush daily (they claim two weeks). We just alternate which unit sits on the charger every couple of days. Initially I was worried that the unit that wasn't charging would fall over a lot, but the center of gravity is low and they have a grippy bottom, so even on a wet counter top, they stay upright. In hindsight, having only a single charging unit saves space without really causing any problems.
One thing did raise my eyebrow... this product comes in a retail box that says clearly on the front "Exclusive Dental Office Unit". I called Oral-B about it and according to them, this either means that Discount Depot (the folks actually selling this item through amazon) is either owned by a dentist (who can order dentist-only products from Oral-B), or this product was questionably obtained somehow.
I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, but I'm still a little suspicious, especially considering the numerous complaints in their seller feedback. That said, my transaction with them was fine and you can't beat the price for two of these toothbrushes. Product came in the mail faster than I expected and the product works great.
Customer Review: exactly what it says Summary: 5 Stars
The professional care 8850 dlx is exactly as described on amazon. I've refused to go to an electric toothbrush for years, but finally made the switch to try and prevent my usual too hard brushing.
I've been using this toothbrush now for a month and love the features such as 2 minute timing and too hard brushing prevention. I must say that it seems impossible to brush too hard since all I have to do is guide the brush from tooth to tooth/surface to surface.
This item does indeed come with two handles (I had seen another review that stated hers came with only one handle) and one charging base. My husband and I alternate using the base with no problem. You can hang the charging base on the wall, it comes with a "hanger" and screws. We decided to do just that to keep our sink top less cluttered. Works like a charm.
Customer Review: Excellent toothbrush Summary: 5 Stars
I have been using oral-b/water pik electric toothbrushes for over 30 years. This is one of the best electric toothbrushes I have ever used. Another reviewer said that these are single-speed handles, but the power handles I received are marked type: 3728 and are two-speed handles.
Our model 4736 lasted over 8 years with heavy use. When we first got it my wife and I were the only users and we are now up to 6 users. Two power handles are now a necessity. We were able to use the charging base from the 4736 for the second handle. The ratings are exactly the same.
One of the nice features oral-b build into their brushed is the ability to take them apart at the end of their life and remove the batteries for recycling. The instructions are on the bottom of the charging base.
Customer Review: Oral-B rocks Summary: 5 Stars
I've had this brush for over a year now and can tell you, it's worth every penny.
Initially I had a sonic care brush, but quickly preferred this to the sonic care. First, it's much easier to clean than the sonic care and in my book ,that's a huge plus, nobody wants to spend 15 minutes cleaning hard to reach dirt in crevices. Both of the brushes left my teeth feeling as if I had just finished coming out of the dentist's office.
I can brush my teeth about 10 times between charges and that's just so convenient. However, full charge takes about 2 days or so; that's not a big deal if you've got two of these babies!!!
I'm now a big fan of Braun products because of this and the Braun pocket go shaver.
Customer Review: Great product Summary: 5 Stars
After researching this product and the Sonicare, I decided to go with the Oral-b. I'm glad I did because the 8850 is a great product. All the reviews for the single-unit ProfessionalCare 8850 DLX being sold on amazon apply. The handle has two speeds, however both my wife and I use the slower speed. The high speed is just too intense for the teeth but it's good for cleaning the tongue.
The only difference between this and the single-unit version is that this one has two power handles, but still only a single charging base. We just switch the handles on a daily basis to the charging base.
