When the dentist told me that my gingivitus was flaring up and wanted me to start floshing twice a day and massaging the gums in the evening, I bought the Sonic Complete instead. I would bruch twice a day and in the evening would flosh and use the massage "speed" on the Sonic. Six months later at my next visit, the dentist just said, "see you in six months" after examining my teeth. That was seven years ago.

I am just getting used to this toothbrush! It takes some doing! I am a senior and at first I thought it would loosen all my teeth! but it hasn't done that and I am sure it does a good job. Can't do an entire two minutes yet--up to about 1 and a half.
Months later: I received a perfect score from my hygenist and from my dentist. No tartar and healthy gums - never before had I had such rave notices!

battery performance was weak from the beginning, but continued to drop off over three months until it wouldn't turn on anymore, despite continuous charging.
i just got the sonicare e9000 to replace it, and i am so so happy with my new toothbrush. the sonicare leaves my mouth tingling and refreshed....so much better than this or my previous electric oral b toothbrush (the one with the spinning head).

I know electronic toothbrushes do a more effective job than manual brushing but don't love this. It is my 1st so can't compare to others but I would like one not to remind me of a dentist's drill. Also every time I use that I accidentally hit the power button and either change the speed or tune it off completely before I finish the 2 minute session and I've used it at least 30 times. My dentist says he's "very impressed" with my dental hygene. I mean, I brush, floss and rinse 3 times a day (at work is with a manual), but I really think this toothbrush has made all the difference. It's amazing how much cleaner your teeth will feel. Ditch the manual (but use one at work after lunch!) and get a Sonic Complete! There's even a setting to brush your tounge and gums!
I LOVE IT!
