I bought this toothbrush because of all the statistics singing the praises of electric toothbrushes. I thought that this head looked particularly effective, so I placed my order.
This is a great toothbrush. Some people have complained about the head size, but that's practically an Oral B trademark, and after a week or so you don't even notice. The toothbrush itself is pretty intense. It might hurt your gums the first time you use it. It is fast and powerful and it really gets the job done. The battery will last almost a week without charging, but after a few days you start to steadily lose power. I recommend keeping it charged most of the time. It's not particularly loud for a brush of its kind, but it does make some noise.
My only complaint: the vibrations sometimes bother my lips and/or nose. It's not as noticeable after awhile, but it's a bit annoying at first. Still, that's not really the toothbrush's fault. It can't help being that intense.
A final comment: Don't listen to some of the negative comments. A lot of them happened because the person didn't read the instructions before use. If used properly, the brush is a huge improvement over a manual. I think my dentist will appreciate it. Five stars.

This is a great toothbrush! I have gingivitis and after only ONE use I could see improvement. In addition, it took off every bit of plaque that I could see, i.e. I thought my front bottom gums were really clean and when toothbrush was done, I saw that they weren't as clean as could they could have been.
I hate to floss ("I don't have time right now!") and this does it for me.
In regards to the timer, I had no idea how long two minutes was! It sounds like nothing, and yet I waited and waited for the timer - I thought it was broken but it wasn't; it showed me how me I DON'T take to brush my teeth. Great feature.
The one thing that is kind of hard to get used to is that you just run the toothbrush over your teeth/gums/tongue and I (quite naturally) am used to the back and forth way of brushing and I kept finding myself having to stop working and let the toothbrush do its work.
To sum up, for anyone wanting to get their teeth REALLY clean and not have to put a lot of maintenance into it, you should really think about investing in this toothbrush. It's a really great toothbrush! I KNOW my dentist is going to be happy.

I should have ordered two, cause when you find something that really works, it gets discontinued for a newer model..Handle size is perfect, especially for victims of stroke or quads...just big enough to handle without being bulky...People have complained about the lack of enough charge...Instructions recommend leaving the handle on the charger after each use, and claims to be impossible to OVER charge...(Not good to take tent camping or when you lack easy electrical outlet)... Has the two minute timer, which I ignore and keep right on brushing...Feels good to my gums, I got the medium firm heads, and have extremely sensitive gums...Been thru oodles of manual toothbrushes that are too soft or too hard, this one is perfect!...Oscilating head on top, bottom is side-to-side...I love the dual head!!!!... the single Oscilating heads are too small on other electric brushes, and I didn't feel they had enough 'surface' to clean well... I have a smaller mouth, and this dual brush works wonderfully, even in the back, between cheek and gums...I bought 3 packs of extra dual heads (3 in a pack) so I won't need to worry about replacements for a while...I would buy this Vitality again & again

My family has several different Oral B electric toothbrush models. All give us that just polished feeling that one gets at the dentist! I prefer the models that have the 2 min auto timer, as it encourages spending that extra time to get all surfaces clean. The electric unit and timer are particularly useful for young children and older folks who may be suffering with limited hand dexterity due to arthritis and sore joints. I have given up manual toothbrushes forever and even take the Oral B when I travel. A full charge will easily last a week.
I have noticed the children have fewer new cavities when they use their electric Oral B. It also promotes healthy gums. Although we were able to share one base unit with our own individual brush heads at home, each child was sent away to college with a new electric Oral B to maintain that dentist visit polish every day! My daughter prefers this model with the dual brush heads. She feels it cleans more efficiently than the single head.
Of course the unit and brush heads cost more than a manual brush, but for sparkling teeth, fewer cavities, healthy gums, fresher breath--a real bargain!

My old Oral-B's battery gave up the ghost. I think I had it for about 10 years. I still had several unused brush heads left over, and was a bit concerned if they would fit on the green model (some reviews here confirmed they would though). The smaller regular heads do fit. I assume the brushing action with the smaller head is the same as the blue one's, but not sure.
I find the green model's brush head too large. Maybe I'll get used to it. I prefer substituting the small head because it is easier to concentrate on one tooth or in between just two teeth. The larger brush pretty much covers the entire side of my mouth, so might be good if I'm in a hurry.
For all you drooler reviewers out there; tilt your head back while brushing.
Another thing to try is brushing with mouthwash, it gets my teeth cleaner more quickly than toothpaste. Plain baking soda works great too. I'll sometimes follow up with toothpaste or brushing with the anti-cavity rinse for the flouride.
The Oral-B Vitality seems to work just as good as my old trusty oral-b, and cheaper to boot. I wish more products were as well made and economical as this.
