Customer Reviews of Oral-B Vitality Dual Clean Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush (Colors May Vary)Customer Review: Does the Job Well Summary: 5 Stars
Those who are concerned with the latest and most effective electric toothbrush would do well to consider the ORAL-B VITALITY model. When an electric toothbrush performs on a high level as this one, then performance trumps price, which in any case is quite reasonable. What I found useful was the dual revolving bristle head. This twin set of bristles is a double edged sword. True, it cleans and massages well, thus insuring the fast removal of plaque, but on the down side, the user must remember to take care not to exert too much pressure since it is easy to forget that gum tissue is far more fragile than tooth enamel. There are several other plusses, the most notable being its portable recharger that allows one to use it in a normal manner for several days. Finally, it has the added advantage common to all electric brushes; one can easily swoop away plaque from hard to reach areas such as behind the front teeth. When one considers the opposition, the primary reason to buy one over the other is how well the brush does its job in a safe, efficient, and reliable manner. The ORAL-B VITALITY brush stands out.
Customer Review: Brush head is HUGE Summary: 2 Stars
I bought this brush when my old Sonicare finally died. I thought I would give this one a try, figuring if I didn't like it, it was only $20. Well, I have brushed with it twice now and I don't like it.
The first and biggest problem is that the Dual Clean brush head feels GIGANTIC in my mouth. I had previously been using the compact brush head for my Sonicare, and I do have a small mouth, but my goodness! Maybe this wouldn't be an issue for someone with a larger mouth (or who was used to using standard-size manual toothbrushes), but I can't maneuver with this thing at all. I suppose I could switch to one of the smaller replacement heads, but I don't think I will.
The other issue is that compared to my Sonicare, it feels cheap. (Of course, compared to the Sonicare, it IS cheap!) Not the construction, but the way the motor runs. It sort of has a chug-chug-chug feel to it. I did charge it fully before using, and still there's the chug.
It may do a great job cleaning and may be suitable for others, but for the 2 reasons stated above, I'm still looking for my new brush.
Customer Review: Excellent toothbrush Summary: 5 Stars
I had first bought this toothbrush in 2006, which worked until 2010, without changing battery. But the old Vitality brush's electronics is now screwed up after four years of service. These days, it starts up automatically sometimes. So I decided to get a new Vitality. A useful life of four years is pretty significant for a $20 brush.
I am very happy with the results. It cleans teeth well, and does it in short time. It has a timer for 2 minutes, which I find very useful. In the first brush that I had bought in 2006, the timer was such that if you turn off the brush in the middle of your brushing, it will restart the 2 minutes. But the current version is a bit smarter. Say you're brushing and you need to stop the brush for a few minutes. When you restart brushing, it continues from the previous time, instead of restarting. That's a great feature, I was hoping to get in my earlier brush, and I did now. I am a happy camper. One of my teeth is slightly at inner level compared to neighboring teeth, but with this brush, I have been able to keep that teeth equally clean.
Customer Review: Oral B, Braun . . . Super Price, Superior Product! Summary: 5 Stars
For the last 10 years I have used the Crest Spin Brush Pro. When I saw this product advertised on TV, I decided to check it out because I was so freakin' sick of replacing batteries in my tooth brush every three weeks to a month! Boy, am I glad I did! I checked it out on line and found an irresistable price for this unit.
This product makes the Crest Spin Brush Pro look like a total piece of JUNK! From the rubberized grip to the quality of it's battery & motor, this brush has it all. I even compared the speed of the Crest to the Oral B/Braun (when both are at full charge, and let me tell you how surprised I was. The Oral B/Braun is at least 40 to 50% faster, and with the higher speed it achieves, my gums actually feel like they're getting a massage every time I brush my teeth! The Oral B is the winner, hands down! Since I've been using this brush, my teeth even FEEL noticeably cleaner. Worth twice the price, This brush is a GREAT value! Extremely recommended!
Merry Christmas, Happy Chanuka & A Happy New Year to all!
Customer Review: "Superior" Clean from a Vigorous Brush Summary: 4 Stars
I've had this brush for almost 2 months, and my teeth have never looked/felt better. Because of its powerful scrubbing motions, this brush is doing most of the work for you. No need for a death grip or vigorous brushing from you. Simply gliding the brush over your teeth and gums is enough. I did notice minor bleeding and soreness on my gums within the first week of use, but that was because they weren't used to such a thorough cleaning. No problems now. The battery has been holding very well. I don't charge it all day because I like to conserve energy. It stays in top shape for at least 5-7 days before I have to charge again. I only wished that it had a case or at least a brush head cover for traveling.
Pros:
1. Powerful brushing
2. Rechargeable
3. 2 minute timer
Cons:
1. No traveling cover/case
**Oct 2010 update**
Just had my dental cleaning, and the hygienist told me she saw (and I quote) "superior brushing"!
