I have used a SoniCare brush for many years and agree that it is a very fine piece of equipment. Unfortunately it is also exorbitantly priced.
I purchased this OralB unit about two months ago just to check it out. What I have found is that I tend to "look forward to brushing" a lot more with this unit than the SCare. It offers a more gentle and less "frenetic brushing experience".
I now use this unit in the morning and the SCare at night, and actually brush two times a day a lot more than I used to...... which for me means the OralB is worth more than i paid for it.

My evaluation is consistent with those of others who think that this device is weak and unsatisfactory.
BUT...
Within ten minutes of my opening this toothbrush and after charging it, I contacted the seller and asked to ship it back.
The seller contacted me and offered a refund WITHOUT sending it back because it is so cheap and not worth shipping back.
The bad news: it is not good; the good news: you can get an easy refund of your money.
Now, what am I going to do with this thing???

The oral-B Vitality Sonic toothbrush works great and is an improvement on the rotating head technology. My kids abuse this toothbrush daily and it holds up very well. The water tight design is especially useful for enduring the abuse of a small child. The two minutes timer keeps my kids from quitting early. I recommend it. :)

Fair product rates 2+ @ best. Its priced nice but, wouldn't recommend it..its too soft to get teeth properly clean from experience w/ it. Normally a fan of 'soft toothbrushes' but not this one. Guess 'I got what I paid for with this one'. Gave it to my 7y dtr, and she DOESN'T get her teeth clean either, so bought a manual tooth brush to get them clean. Brush is soft and doesn't hurt her mouth though. Sorry, wish I could have left a better review, suggest another brand.Customer Review: good check-ups w/ this toothbrush!

Most of my family have been using this toothbrush (the sonic variety of the oral-b vitality) for about a year, & we're very happy w/ it. & so is my dental hygienist...I missed my last appointment, so it's been 18 months between cleanings, & there was very little build-up. the replacement heads are a bit hard to find & a bit pricey, but I found some on Amazon for about $16 for a 3-pk, which is about 2/3 the price elsewhere. So I purchased this one at Amazon for my son.
