Customer Reviews of Organic Buckwheat Pillow - Queen Size (20" x 30")Customer Review: Great pillow Summary: 5 StarsI got this pillow because I suffer from knots in my neck. Since I've started using the pillow my pain has decreased and I never feel the need to reach for a second pillow anymore. As other reviewers have mentioned it does take a couple nights to get used to. For that I recommend laying an old t-shirt on top of the pillow for a couple days to make it a bit softer both to the touch and softens the noise of the buckwheat as it moves around. Great product!
Customer Review: Finally a pillow that will work for me Summary: 4 StarsI've been looking for the right type of pillow for a while. I'm glad I decided to try this buckwheat pillow. Yes, the queen size is a heavy pillow, and you have to put effort into forming the shape you want, but once arranged I find it so comfortable, firm, but with just the right amount of give. Yes it does fit into a queen size pillow case, albeit snugly. I did remove some of the buckwheat (I saved it in a gallon ziplock bag), which allowed me to get just the right hollow for my head. After a month I can tell the buckwheat already moves with more ease, part of the natural polishing that occurs with use, so now it it take less effort to arrange the shape of my pillow. I'm a back and side sleeper, and wasn't bothered by the sound of the buckwheat, a mild crinkle that I only noticed when I first lay down, it never woke me up. The only thing I'd do differently would be to go for a smaller pillow.
Customer Review: Who wants to iron a pillowcase? Summary: 3 StarsThis queen size and the two travel pillows I bought are PACKED full of hulls, which is great. But the pillowcases are so stiff that I had to wash them in more than a cup of fabric softener, which did not help much. And they have to be ironed, which is not something I want to do period, never mind in the heat of summer. Will be buying new cases.
Customer Review: The perfect pillow for me. Summary: 5 StarsThis has turned out to be the perfect pillow for me. I can get it to the perfect hight to fall asleep. This buckwheat pillow flattens out during the night, but that is good for my neck, and if I awaken, I just readjust it and I'm good to go. This is the best pillow I've ever had. No more fighting foam. I got the queen size because I read the pillow runs small. I put it in a regular size pillowcase and it actually comes to the very end of the pillowcase. I have left it in that pillowcase but will probably try a queensize pillowcase next.
Customer Review: The last pillow I will ever buy! Summary: 5 StarsAbout every 2-3 months I have to buy a new pillow. I'm a side sleeper and I tend to put my arm under the pillow and craddle it against my head. I don't know if this or my slobber is causing the pillows to go flat in 2-3 months. I started using 2 pillows and the end result felt like I was sleeping on 2 copies of the Sunday newspaper. I was spending $100 a year for pillows so I figured why not try this buckwheat thingy.
First off, the pillow weighs 15 pounds, Im guessing. When I first laid my head on it, I thought it was too stiff and not very comfortable. After a few nights of using it and understanding how to "carve out" a spot for my head to rest, I have to say this pillow is the BEST pillow I have ever used.
My wife thought I wasted $60 (including s&h) and was an idiot. She also said the pillow is "too loud" since it does crinkle when you move it around. I have yet to wake up do to the "loudness" of my pillow and neither has she. However, she has quickly converted and whenever I goes to bed before me, I find her using my pillow.
Its only been a month, so I don't know about the longevity of the pillow, but so far, I am totally satisfied by the quality and comfort. Fits easily in to a queen pillow case and is A+ overall.
