My son was born with abnormally small nostrils. Because of this, we are unable to use a bulb syringe to clear his nasal passages. We have to use a pick (provided by the doctor) to remove secretions from his nose. The Dr Mom Otoscope provides enough light that I can tell whether I need to clean his nose or not, and enables me to see what I am doing without damaging his nasal tissue. Thanks! The only draw back--- batteries do not last long with frequent use.Customer Review: Buy the LED one instead

I accidentally ordered this one, and immediately returned it. It's not that it's fundamentally a bad product, but I intended on getting the LED otoscope. This one has an incandescent bulb, which not only drains batteries 10 times faster than an LED, but has a lifetime on the order of hours.
For the technically minded, the LED otoscope appears to have a DC-DC boost converter, so it should still work even when the batteries are very low.

My husband has ear problems and I can see his eardrum perfectly. Great buy. I work for a medical supply company and I have bought more expensive ottoscopes (that we sell to medical students) that did not last as long or look as clear as this one. My last one broke and I was shopping around to get one at a reasonable cost through the catalogs at work and this one was even below employee cost of the "professional" ones I could get.Customer Review: Awesome product! This is an awesome product. I had an otoscope before that I couldn't see anything with, but Doctor Mom's is different! It is easy to see all the way into your child's ear, plus it comes with color photos that show you what you are looking for! I would recommend this product to anyone who has small children who get recurring ear infections. It will save you many many trips to the doctor to just SEE if they have an ear infection!Customer Review: Wonderful Product.

This is wonderful. I've used it many times already to check my children's ears when in doubt about an ear infection. It has saved us needless trips to the doctor. The included diagrams are very helpful. I also was able to use it to spot and remove an object my son stuck in his ear--a spitball! No wonder he complained his ear was itchy! Pulled out the otoscope and checked his ear--then I got the spitball out! Wonderful.
