I bought several of these last summer for my kids to use at camp. Eight hours a day, 5 days a week, for 8 weeks those kids were outdoors, in the woods, hiking, swimming, and doing crafts.
And I can count on one hand the number of bug bites they got the whole summer. And not one tick!
These bands are deet-free, and worth their weight in gold, as far as I'm concerned. I love Bug Bands!

These bands were recommended by our son's summer camp and we were quite skeptical about them. But they seem to be working very well and are comfortable to wear. Our son likes them much better than the sprays and smelly lotions that we used to use and never really worked. Before using these bands, his legs and arms were covered with bites. I've used Bug Band for a couple of weeks now. It really keeps the annoying house flies off of me when I sleep. We have no mosquitoes in my area. However, little by little I've noticed a rash in the antecubial areas of my arms and the webbing of my fingers. I can't use it anymore the irritation is so severe. Too bad. I am very sad to say this does not work. I was in desperate hopes of finding something natural for my toddler without having to spray her down. I put one on her right wrist and one on her left ankle. You could do dot-to-dot patterns on her there were so many mosquito bites she received with the bands on.Customer Review: works very well

Our son has very bad reactions to mosquito bites. They blister and swell. We don't want him constantly covered in bug spray. If he wears one of these on his wrists, the mosquitos don't touch his arms. We lightly spray his legs to be extra cautious. The bands work very well.
