It's only been one week since I've been using it. I ordered two soaps, one for face and one for body. I have been using the face one twice a day, and the body just once a day. I have some pretty fresh acne scars on my face that I want to lighten up, and so far the soap seems to have made them look redder! It doesn't burn or sting or irritate my skin. It lathers up really well, and it's easy to smooth on and massage on skin, and when you rinse it off, it rinses easily, but leaves skin feeling dry. I moisturize afterward and my face looks really good...EXCEPT for the gross red marks (one on top of eyebrow and another on the side of my nose). Seems to be helping everything but what I wanted it for. I can't say I see any difference at all for the body. I focus mainly on my arms that I have very uneven tan marks still from summer, and then I use my regular soap that moisturizes and smells good. I've been using Likas soap for about a month now. I'm a VERY fair caucasian female and I suffer from pretty bad hyperpigmentation all over my body after having a twins ten years ago. And, to top it off, my skin is pretty dry. My dermatologist prescribed hydroquinone 4% to help lighten my dark spots. Just as an aside, insurance doesn't pay for hydroquinone because it's for cosmetic use only, so those 40ml tubes are $24 each. And, there are some very scary stories about skin cancer if you use as much of the stuff as I was going to need. So after a couple of tubes with very little results, one of my Filipina friends told me about Likas. I bought a bar and tried it. I can't believe the results!! My skin tone is much more even, my skin is SO soft and my dark spots are fading. Yes, I am much paler now but I look ten years younger. I was so excited to receive this soap iv'e used it for 2 weeks. I had a really bad reaction. I lathered the soap onto my skin for 5 minutes washed it off, patted it dry than moisturized my skin. My skin burned it was itchy and it broke my face out like crazy. And the lightening affect was temporary. When i finished washing my face i looked pale. But than when i put on moisturizer my kin looked back to its darker state. So I haven't seen any lightening affect and it gave me little tiny pimples all over my face. Maybe this soap isn't for very sensitive skin like mine. I might just use it for my body is stead. Now my skin is full of pimples and my makeup doesn't go on evenly. I'll give it a month to see if i see any improvements. As for now I'm afraid to put this soap any where near my skin. It feels like i'm applying acid to my skin and it dries out and irritates my eyes, and i don't even put it near my eyes.Customer Review: Seriously, this works.

I bought this a few months ago on Amazon, and I didn't really think I'd ever get around to writing a review because I didn't think it would actually work. I have acne, and the benzoyl peroxide I use for treatment makes my skin extremely sensitive to the sun, so I tan really easily. Plus, I already have dark-ish skin, so I needed a decent skin lightener. I've tried a number of skin-lightening soaps and lotions, and none of them really worked. Since I bought the Likas Papaya soap, I've been using it on and off (it tends to be a bit drying), and I never expected decent results. But just recently, I've noticed, when using my usual foundation, that it made my skin a lot darker. Sure, I had to get a new shade of foundation, but THIS ACTUALLY WORKS!
One criticism-this soap doesn't really do anything for acne scars/hyperpigmentation, which might discourage some people from buying it.

I have been using this soap for 1 week and I already see the difference, I wanted to lighten my elbows and knees this works but for you to get results fast you need to keep at it, people buy stuff use it when ever they remember and expect a miracle...
when you now start to use the soap of course you will feel your skin a bit rough and darken a bit but it's just working to remove the old uneven skin and bring out new skin so you keep at it and your skin peels a little...
If you are working on your body, lather up and keep rubbing for a min on areas that need the work then rinse, the last place to use this soap is the face but leave for just about half a min as your face would be sensitive...
I have noticed my stretch marks fading also but yes you need a good moisturizer, it drys you out a bit...
