These clippers will stop at nothing to cut through hair. My last two or three clippers/trimmers eventually wore out to where they were snagging/pulling on hairs. I like the quick change system that Oster has designed for the cutting blades. One thing with professional clippers like these is that the blades are wider than what I was used to with cheaper clippers/trimmers, so they don't seem to 'hug' your head as well while clipping, but you can get used to it. I'm considering getting #0000 or #00000 blades as I like it real close (waited to see how close the #000 blade that comes with the set was). These clippers are large...I hope I don't ever drop them, not that they probably wouldn't keep on working, but you just might crack the thick plastic housing some what.Customer Review: Now THAT's what I call a clipper!!!

Now THAT's what I call a clipper, baby...
... and to think how long I've been getting by with the cheapy Walmart/ happy homeowner clipper brands.
Positives:
- clean, fast, great cut and operation across the board. It brings two blade types - easily interchanged in seconds
- you can feel the solidity and quality
- supple, long cord
- reminiscent of haircuts as a kid in the town's corner barber shop [ where's the Archie comics? ]
Negatives: [ minor ]
- the weight is noticable [ compared to homeowner brands ] but not objectionable
- slight smell of electric motor/oil
- klunky shape/style - could use a modern-styled redesign

I have been using this for about 6 months now and find it to be a very good clipper. I use it to shave my head and needed to get a 00000 blade to cut as close as I wanted to. The 000 blade it comes with is good, but not low enough for me. It is very easy to change and clean blades. The two blades are fused into one unit so they stay perfectly aligned. I have had other popular brand name clippers that didn't last long and became misaligned easily. I know this one will always stay aligned and I am hoping it lasts long. It is well made and should last longer than the others. I am very impressed with how well it is designed and can understand why it is a favorite of barbers. Blades are somewhat expensive so it is probably best to get them on eBay.

This thing is a horse and I am so glad I bought it. I have been giving myself haircuts for almost 10 years and have always used the "StoreMart" brand clippers that come in a $20 kit. After having gone through about five of these kits in the last 10 years, I finally decided to get a good set of clippers. Found this online, read the other reviews, and bit the bullet.
I have to say that this thing is amazing. When you turn it on, the first thing you notice is the sound. Not a buzzing "hum" like the other cheap versions, but a machine-like whirl. After reading that these are used for all day salon use, I think it will hold up to my head twice a week.
I wish it had come with a protective case or pouch, but I'll get over it.

head and shoulders above all home clippers. better than all the typical drugstore brands.
pros:
-power power power. practically one pass cuts clean and smooooth (yes, 4 o's). like a hot knife through butter!
-you can chage the blades!! if you like #1, you can use a #1 blade and not have to deal with cumbersome clips. (comes with 2 blades only)
-saves time time time!! ive cut my cutting time in half. i shave my entire head in 10 minutes when it use to take me 20-25 with a drugstore brand.
cons:
-a bit pricey, but i really believe i will make my money back in time and quality.
-in all honesty, nothing else. i am in love with this clipper.
overall: worth every penny.
