Customer Review: Not as good as Edge Gel... returned product

I used the product three times.
First time, I used it freely (about double the normal amount recommended) to shave a full beard. The results were acceptable but not outstanding. I had a very minor amount of irritation.
Second time, I used exactly the amount indicated and massaged the oil in as instructed. I had significant irritation after shaving stubble.
Third time, I intentionally over-used the product by a very large amount (2ml of the 15ml bottle) to better understand the effect of the oil on my face. The results of this more generous coating were similar to the previous use with slightly less irritation.
Side effects of using this product compared to Edge Shave Gel is your face feeling dehydrated / drawn tight for over an hour after use, slightly more irritation, and a possible coating in your mouth due to getting some of the oil on your lips while "rubbing the oil in". In addition, I have a light beard and found that if I used too much oil, it was actually much more difficult to shave some of the incrementally finer hair located near the edge of my beard.
Overall, I would not recommend this product. However, if you are curious the company does offer a money-back guarantee and the performance of the oil is still probably a bit better than standard shaving cream.
Customer Review: NOT NATURAL INGEDIENTS!

This product claims to be all natural. That's it's unique selling point. Well, I am a PhD chemist, Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and a Chartered Chemist and I am here to tell you this product is not made from all natural ingredients. Far from it!

1. Laureth-4 which is a surfactant that does not occur in nature
2. Cyclopentasiloxane which is silicone oil! They describe it as "a cousin of mineral oil". What a joke. This is 100% synthetic and does not occur in nature.
These are not natural and are two of the three main ingredients so they are present in higher concentrations.
What does this mean for you as a customer? First it means that you are not getting the natural product you were promised and paid for. Second it means that you are buying from a company that is either willfully lying to their customers or maybe they do not have a chemist working for them in which case who wants to put stuff on their skin which was formulated without any knowledge of the ingredients? Neither option is appealing.
Beware that one of their competitors also claims "silicone free" and then when you read the list of ingredients you find that it contains silicone. I hope Amazon takes a dim view of this deceptive practice.
Customer Review: Great Pre-Shave Oil

This product is supposed to be used by itself in place of shaving cream.
I have used it that way, and it is certainly superior to canned shaving foams and gels.
However, I think this product really shines as a Pre-Shave oil for use with a good shaving cream (like Proraso Eucalyptus Shaving Cream Tube). I rub a few drops onto my wet beard and really work it in, then I wait about a minute before applying the cream. I have been doing this for 2 months now and I'm getting the best shaves of my life.
One tiny bottle lasts a long time. I use 5-8 drops every day and still haven't finished the first bottle (I guess a bottle lasts about 3 months). It is also great for air travel because it meets airport security volume guidelines and doesn't take much room in your carry-on bag.

I was skeptical to try this product. I was fearful that I would cause more nicks and cuts, because it seemed asthough there was nothing between my skin and the blade. (you can see the shaving cream) However, after using Pacific Shaving Oil just once, I became a convert. My face received the closest shave ever, as well as retaining its natural moisture. Since Pacific Shaving Oil does not have any alcohol, your face does NOT dry up after shaving. In fact, the oils in Pacific Shaving Oil actually moisturize your face, all without clogging your pores. Its great to travel with as well, since it is packaged in a small bottle. Once you try this product, you will switch.
For the closest shave, without nicks or cuts, try this product.
Customer Review: Good stuff -- no more cans of shaving cream

For kicks I decided not to buy my usual can of shaving cream and to try something new. I ordered this shaving oil. I'm glad I did. At first, I thought the oil was too light and runny to work properly. However, I noticed that it made my stubble stand out which allowed for a close smooth shave. It leaves a pleasant scent and doesn't feel oily when finished. I went through the bottle pretty quickly and used about 10 drops per shave, which is more than the manufacturer recommends. I recommend this product and plan to buy it again.
By way of comparison, I prefer Pacific Shaving Company's shaving oil - by a thin margin - over The Total Shaving Solution shaving oil.
