Customer Review: Not the Best Diapers for Newborns

We love Pampers diapers and are using them now because of their superior absorbancy, but I have to tell you that when our two children were newborns that the Pampers Size "N" did not fit them very well. My daughter was on the tubby side while my son was on the skinny side and neither was serviced well by these diapers.
It was not so much a poopy problem for us, but a leak at night time problem which, lets face it, is no fun.
My advice is to try Huggies first for your newborn, and to use Pampers for every size 1 and above.

I have to say, even though Alex is my first child and Pampers being the only diaper I have really tried...other than the free samples of Huggies...the NB size has worked for us. Alex was 6lbs 7.5oz at birth and one month later 7lbs 12oz and still in the NB size...debating on moving up a size. The only problem we had with leaking is remembering to put "the pee-pee down" (I have to say it to remind myself at changings!haha) When he "pointed north" we had leakage which was our fault. Other than that, it is amazing at how much a NB diaper can hold!Customer Review: Hardly any leaks

I loved this product. I have a 2 month old boy and tried many diapers before finding this one. I tried Target's generic brand and regular Pampers but these seemed to fit the best. Occasionally we would have a leak but that was either due to user error (putting diaper on wrong) or baby was fed a lot more food than usual. This was also the diaper the hospital used when he was first born. The diaper has a soft texture to it which I think is more comfortable for the baby. I wish they made swaddlers for babies over 14pounds.Customer Review: Swaddlers are super!

We use cloth diapers during the day, but choose to use disposable overnight. With Huggies Supreme we were having leaks from wet diapers almost every other day. With the Swaddlers we did not have one single leak.
As far as messy diapers, it is apparent when our son has a messy diaper and we change him promptly. We have never had a leak and there have been some very messy diapers.
To the reviewer that talks about ruined clothes. Try the Bi-O-Kleen laundry detergent and stain remover.

I started out using the preemie diapers and then graduated to the newborns and size 1. I tried Huggies and all they do is leak! We were at a wedding & my baby had a huge blow out with the huggies. What a mess! Everytime she went to the bathroom I had to change her clothes due to the leaking! The Pampers have never leaked and they fit just right around her legs. They have an extra barrier to prevent the leaks and they work the best!! I will never go back to Huggies! Pampers all the way!
