Customer Reviews of Pampers SwaddlersCustomer Review: Swaddlers Caused Diaper Rash Summary: 1 Stars
I have used Pampers Swaddlers (both the new Dry Max and the previous technology) and Pampers Baby-Dry Diapers, Size 3 (16-28 Lbs), Economy Plus Pack, 204 Diapers on my 5 week old. We started with the Dry Max Swaddlers and he started developing diaper rash. As new parents, we amped up our vigilance and started using copious amounts of diaper cream. After a few days, not only did it not get better, it was getting worse. At this point we needed more diapers and I picked up the Pampers Baby Dry (not intentionally, we didn't realize that there was a difference between Pampers models). After only a day and half in these, the diaper rash started going away and finally disappeared as we made it through that pack of diapers. We assumed our fast swoop and change with the diaper cream was finally doing the trick. Now needing a bigger size, we picked up a pack of Swaddlers (old technology, not Dry Max), because they definitely are less bulky than the Dry Max. By the end of the end of the first day in these, the diaper rash was back. I may be new to this parenting thing, but whatever is in the Swaddlers is causing diaper rash for us. This isn't a knock against Pampers in general (no leaks in any of the diapers we used) and I do like the Baby Dry, but if you start seeing diaper rash in Swaddlers it may be due to whatever the absorbent chemical is.
Customer Review: Why are these perfumed? Summary: 1 Stars
I purchased these diapers for my 11 day old baby. We had run out of Seventh Generation unbleached diapers and the local Meijer did not carry that brand. So, I purchased these. I had not yet even used a wet wipe on my baby, who like her mom and dad, has extremely sensitive skin. I was trying to avoid chemicals, perfumes and potential irritants. I felt angry when I opened the package and got a whiff of the strong perfume. I reexamined the packaging. Had I somehow made an error and not noticed that these are scented? No! Pampers does not bother to mention that these are perfumed diapers. After 11 days of diapering her in a unscented diaper, it sure is annoying to use these. The dirtier the diaper is, the more perfumey it smells. That is not at all helpful to me and I find it absurd. We were rash and irritation free prior to Swaddlers, now she has a red and irritated bottom. Thanks for nothin' Pampers. I will not be purchasing your products again. Please clearly mark your product as "scented". Consumers deserve that.
4-30-2010 UPDATE: New Pampers Swaddlers and Cruisers are causing CHEMICAL BURNS on babies! Hey, Proctor and Gamble, nice job! Why is your company so chemical happy? Shame on you! I am boycotting your products FOREVER!

Customer Review: Pampers Are the BEST Diapers On the Market! Summary: 5 Stars
I am a first time mom and used Pampers from the very start. However, I got Huggies on sale and decided to try them and I immediately regretted it. The fit is AWFUL. The diapers leak and are not very absorbent. I am going to use them up because I feel like I would be throwing money away, but I can't wait to go back to Pampers. Pampers never leaked and the fit is perfect and contours to our baby. You can also feel the difference in the quality of the material.
My only complaint with Pampers is that our daughter outgrows them before the weight specified on the package, but every baby is different, so I have just learned that she is 2 pounds ahead of the suggested weight. From reading other reviews this seems to be a common complaint. Our daughter has chubby legs, so if your child is more bottom heavy you should go with the next size two pounds earlier than stated.
We also use the Pampers Baby Dry at night and LOVE them! Pampers Baby-Dry Diapers, Size 3 (16-28 Lbs), Economy Plus Pack, 204 Diapers We have been using the Pampers Sensitive Wipes and have no complaints. Pampers Sensitive Baby Wipes, 64-Count Tubs (Pack of 8) (512 wipes) Our daughter has never had diaper rash and she is four months old now.
Customer Review: No wetness indicator on size 1!! Summary: 1 Stars
I have been using Pampers Swaddlers since my daughter was born. I started with the Newborn size, and she now wears size 1. All newborn size packages I purchased have had the wetness indicator, and the 1st package of size 1's had the wetness indicator. I just opened my 2nd package of size 1's, and there is no wetness indicator! I'm so upset...this is the main reason I purchase the Pampers Swaddlers. I called Pampers today and the rep said that they had received "negative feedback" on the wetness indicators and are no longer putting them on the size 1 diapers, but that the Swaddlers Sensitive still have the wetness indicators as they always have. Hmmm, sounds like a scam to get you to spend more on the Sensitive. I looked at some other online comments regarding this "change", and it sounds like Pampers does in fact still make the regular Swaddlers with the wetness indicator, but it's hit or miss as to whether or not the box you buy will have it. If you are purchasing at a retailer, you can look on the box to see if it shows the wetness indicator, but if you are buying online (as I do from Amazon), you won't know if you have a box with the indicators or not until it shows up on your front door...SO FRUSTRATING!!!
Customer Review: For sizes 1-2: Pampers, for sizes 3 and up: Huggies. Use nothing else. Summary: 5 Stars
I'm sure if you ask 10 parents about diapers, you'll get 10 answers. But my wife and I and our family have all come to the same conclusions, so I'll share it here:
1. For sizes 1-2, get Pampers.
2. For sizes 3 and on, get Huggies.
3. Never use cheap diapers.
4. Buy from Amazon.
All of this is for one big reason: leaks. For little babies, Pampers fit better and don't leak. For bigger ones, Huggies fit better. All others will work find until one day when you get a big, nasty leak and then you're left wondering if cleaning it up is really worth the $5 you saved.
Amazon has great prices, and with the discount for "subscribe and save", it's even cheaper and more convenient. We don't even worry about buying diapers anymore. They just come like clockwork, just when we need them, and they're cheaper than anywhere else that I've found.
By the way, the Huggies we use now have really cool "sticky parts": they only stick to the diaper, and they can be taken off and replaced several times. It's amazing, and makes a big difference when your little on is wiggling around and it takes a few tries to get the diaper on right.
