I find this to be an effective cleansing tool. You will not notice imediate results so don't be discouraged by some of the reviews here. For an effective treatment the face should be thoroughly cleansed, steamed and exfoliated. An at home microdermabrasion treatment is the best but if not, use your regular brand of facial scrub. Exfoliating will get rid of the excess cells sitting on the surface of your skin that prevent the pore from being effectively cleaned. Steaming obviously will help open and soften the pores which will also aid in cleansing.
You may only actually remove the contents of a few pores each time you use it, but you will notice greater skin clarity and you will notice your pores staying clean if you use this regularly.

First of all, I would like to thank all other reviewers, they helped me to figure out whether to buy this product and what to expect. I am very glad I bought this pore cleanser, it works great! But don't expect immediate results (although you might see the effect right away). I started using it everyday for the first 2 weeks, and it doesn't take much time or energy at all! And my skin became wonderful! It is much cleaner, smoother and the pores look smaller. One thing I have to say though, I only liked the small side of the suction cup, the large one didn't do anything for me. Or may be I just didn't figure out how to use it yet... But I highly recommend this product if you have oily or combination skin that breaks out a lot and large pores.Customer Review: It works REALLY well!

You have to use it correctly: 1) at the end of a hot shower or 2) after steaming the face for a few minutes. The mist is unnecessary. The trick is to drag it very very slowly over the face--you can feel the suction. I suspect people who think it doesn't work are just dragging it over the skin. I've had recurrent blackheads on my nose my entire life--I'm 44--and finally my blackheads are completely gone. After using it three times, my pores were visibly more refined. After a week, my skin looks like glass. You can see the gunk it's sucking up in the vacuum attachment. I find the larger attachment side works better for me--more suction--but the small side works too for creases of the nose. I first saw this product at The Sharper Image and it caught my eye. I found one here at amazon.com for half as much as the price in the store. I bought it for myslef as a gift to myself for xmas. I got a little worried when I read the review here saying it could only be used on the nose but after reading the intsructions I found it could be used on the whole face. The first time I used it it felt slightly sore while using the pore cleanser. I used it after I got out of the shower and washed my face. It made my skin very soft but afterwords I used Murads toner, liquid exfoliator, and moisturizer and my skin has been great. I only use it once a week but boy does it make my face look and feel clean.Customer Review: Oy, vey!

It will indeed give your face little dark purple marks if you hold it in one place too long, ladies. And you'll have to use cover up for at least 2-3 days afterwards, which will increase your chances of getting even more blackheads...
So does it work? After three weeks of using it 2-3 times per week, I'm not really sure. The suction cup looks like it's taken in a few blackheads(ew! but better there than in my pores...), so it has to be doing something. But when I look at my face, all I can think is that I'm better off squeezing them with my fingers!
Oh, and even though there's a mister, if you fill it up with hot water, it still comes out cold and closes up your pores. Go figure.
