Customer Reviews of Panasonic ER411NC Nose and Ear Hair GroomerCustomer Review: Seemed okay at first then... Summary: 3 Stars
Okay, so I buy this online because I'm too embarrassed to admit I have a massive hedge-like formation that has cropped up on the inside rim of my nostrils and I don't want to go into a store and let some 16 year old babe in low rise jeans see me buy it. I get it home, take it out of the box and put it to work. Side A (the left) goes reasonably smoothly though there is this wierd aroma of frying hair as I pump the thing in and out of my nostril. I switch to side B and it really seems to go haywire flaying open the skin and tugging the hairs out so viciously that I got tears running down my face. I stumble out of the bathroom and my woman sees me bleeding crying and looking all confused and she says 'youre on coke again aren't you?' So I'm like 'no!' but I cant stop screwing my face up because the hair that got pulled out tweaked something in my face and it just stings so much. Anyway, I'd recommend it.
Customer Review: Craptastic Summary: 2 Stars
I got this thing about a year ago. It worked fine... no pulling, a little noisy, but that was okay. Well, about a month ago, I noticed that it didn't run very fast. I figured it must be the battery so I changed it with a brand new copper-top (wink) battery. No difference! If I take the tip off and remove the head, the motor spins, but not with it assembled. Seems to be the motor is going, as others have said. Sure $20 isn't too bad, but the life of this product is ridiculous. And I can assure you that this thing has not seen heavy use. I by-no-means have a jungle in my nose.... I used this thing maybe once or twice a month for a few small hairs.... and that occasional thick, long one looking like a dog whisker that comes from nowhere (oh yeah... you know what I'm talking about).
I guess I'll be looking for a new one now, and it won't be a Panasonic.
Customer Review: not the solution Summary: 1 Stars
I bought this based on all of the fantastic reviews. I have to wonder, did you all use this yourselves on your own nose? I can't review this against any other pure nose hair trimmer, this is the first one that I have used. I dread putting it up my nose. I found it to be painful and irritating, and I bled when I tried to get too close. Maybe all of the other nose hair trimmers are worse. A friend of mine had a manual nose hair trimmer that he wound up his nose, and it stuck, he had to pull it out. This isn't THAT bad. But I do have a Norelco electric shaver that has a beard trimmer attachment that does just as good a job as this without any pain or making me want to sneeze or whatever. I have not tried it on my ears, maybe it would be good for that, but I don't need that. I'll bet most people would like the electric shavers with the beard attachment better than this!!!
Customer Review: I can breathe clearly now.. The hair is gone.. Summary: 5 Stars
I never thought I had a need for a hair trimmer of any sort.. I've never seen hair in my ears and I have a full mustache that blends in right up to my nostrils.. However, after shaving my mustache off, I noticed my nose hair was a little longer than I'd expect.. I read the review for this product on Amazon and wondered how so many customers could speak so highly of a nose hair trimmer.. That was until I received mine today and put a single AA battery into it, turned it on and began to use it in less than two minutes from its arrival.. This has to be the most effective means of getting rid of your unwanted nose/ear hair that's actually fun, safe and semi-enjoyable (for the tickling effect).. If you're hairs are going astray and if you're having a bit more of a difficult time breathing than normal, try this product out.. You will NOT be dissatisfied..
Customer Review: Panasonic has changed the blade design- do not buy Summary: 1 Stars
This product used to be excellent, except for short blade life. In my experience, the blade would go bad before the first battery had to be replaced. However it would trim small hairs from the nose and ears very well.
Panasonic has changed the blade design from an 'L' shaped blade, which would trim hair entering from the top as well as the sides, to an 'I' shaped blade, which only cuts hair entering from the sides. This has changed the trimmer into a lousy product. It now does a poor job of trimming hair from the nose, or ears, or anywhere else.
Panasonic probably made the change so that the blade will last longer. Of course it will, because now it doesn't trim anything. There is absolutely nothing on the package to let you know you are buying the redesigned product. Stay away from this product and buy from another manufacturer.
