Customer Review: Good but don't drop the blade tip

I've had this trimmer for about two months now, and it does a good job though it does sound kind of underpowered. I've never had it snag a hair or anything like that. The only problem I've had is one time when I was cleaning it, I dropped the conical blade tip which apparently slightly bent one of the blade fingers - enough to prevent the trimmer from turning. These blades must have a very close tolerance because it took a very thorough exaination to find which blade was bent, and even then it was so slight I wasn't entirely sure. But after tweaking it with some needle nose pliers, it seems to actually run better than ever! In the two months I'm now on my third battery.

Got him this unit before the Holidays.. Took it out the box & tried it on him.. he says it wasn't cutting.. then noticed it had a small plastic cover covering the tip. Removed it for him & it works great now. His former unit was a Remington unit without the light. I like the light feature because MORE then LIKELY someone else will be cutting his ear hair for him, this light comes in handy!!! While I' will agree it isn't as functional for cutting nose hair , there may be occurrences when this light will help someone. It is better to have it then Not have it !
Ordered this unit for him, I got the Vacuum unit cutter for myself. Both work well.

I am 23 and cursed with nose hair. Just used this contraption for the first time and I am very happy with it. I felt absolutely NO pain, just a little startling the first time I heard the blades cutting away. It has great reach, and is very comfortable to use. The light is also useful for checking for stragglers. The only downside is that I expected the trimmer to catch the hair after trimming, it may have gotten a few hairs, but upon blowing my nose I discovered a good amount of hair had been left in my nose from the trimmer, not a big deal, but this does go against Panasonics claims. This Specific Trimmer from Panasonic was a Disappointing Purchase. The Trimmer Lasted About 5 Months of Very Occasional Use. The Blade on this Model is Veru Tiny, Fragile and of Poor Design. The Blade is What Led Me to Have to Buy Another Trimmer, Because it Became Slightly Out of Aligned with the Outside of the Trimer and Would Not Allow the Motor to Turn It. This Model Also Has a Poor Power Level which Made It Inefficient in Trimming Hair. I Replaced this Model with the Panasonic Model with the Squared Off Body, which is Shown it the Comparison Chart on the Product Detail Page for this Product. I bought one of those $19.95 Chinese nose and ear trimmers that were advertised on TV for a long time, the one guaranteed not to cut or hurt. It took weeks to arrive and last about 6 months. Then I bought one of these.
This model is far more substantial with a good engine and nice cutting surface. Panasonic won't guarantee you won't have an unpleasant cut or two (especially in the nose) but it works well and is not bad in the pain department. Does a very nice job on ears, too.
I haven't used this thing "wet" yet and really can't imagine doing so. So far this has done the job and has been everything it was advertised to be.
