i owned this for maybe two months, had used it maybe 3 times, when i noticed that it wasn't working. i only use good batteries, but still, i put in a new one. nothing.
get a groom mate. i just did, it works great, better than the battery operated ones, and, as a bonus, it doesn't have a motor to can out on you. or needing new batteries all the time. twist and turn it yourself, and you won't have to keep shopping for a damn nose hair trimmer. don't you have other things to do? i know i do. the groom mate is probably the fourth i will have owned. i don't see why i would ever need another, unless it came with a personal masseuse.

I purchased the Panasonic ER421KC Nose and Ear Hair Trimmer, Wet/Dry, Lighted about a year ago and love it! I used to use scissors and occasionally a razor to get a really clean look on my ears and nose. I always inevitably ended up cutting myself and bleeding. It also took forever.
Now, with this Panasonic trimmer, it's easy to use everyday if need be. There is no pulling (and unimaginable pain) of hair like I worried there would be. It is also convenient to be wet/dry as I don't have to worry about getting a shock when I use it right out of the shower.
As for the light -it is not too useful while you are trimming, but is useful when you need to check your work.
In addition, the head is removable for easy cleaning.
This trimmer is a must own for every man.

I tried three others before this one and did not like any of them. They pinched, pulled and in general did a poor job. Then I bought this model.......about 4 years ago. I worked like a charm. Cuts well without cutting you. Never pulled, pinched, or cut me. Used it without one single problem for about 4 years and then it just died. I could not find another one locally so I searched the web. Found it again here and it felt like finding an old friend. Ordered it and the service was quick, as 3 days later it was in my hands trimming my nose and ear hair again. I've had it for a few weeks and it works well. I expect a repeat performance of the first one. My only issue is that it may not be available in 4 years when I need a new one, so I am thinking of getting a spare. After 6 months, the trimmer became dull and had a loud, grinding noise when used.
I was given this trimmer as a present. The first few months, it was a great trimmer. After the first, three months, there was a high grinding noise that sounded like the blade was rubbing against the inner cap. After taking apart the inner cap, and cleaning the blade numerous times, the machine was still in the same condition. I ordered new blades and after a couple of weeks , the same noise came back.
It was obvious, it was time to replace the trimmer.
In addtion, I personally never use the attached light accessory, I think it's a wasted feature.
In conclusion, out of my experience, I would keep away from this model and look into other trimmers.

Having used Amazon for a number of purchases over the years, I ordered the Panasonic Nose Hair trimmer, and was notified immediately that my credit card info was incorrect. After trying to do so, I ordered again, with the same result. No sale. And again and again. I finally reregistered with Amazon, using a different credit card. Again, upon doing so, my order was rejected. After one more try - unsuccessful - I found the item on another site, and ordered it with no problems - but at a lower price! Product from other vendor arrived a few days later, followed shortly thereafter by THE SAME PRODUCT SENT BY AMAZON, AND A CHARGE TO MY CREDIT CARD. As it was too much trouble to send product back and arrange the credit, I kept it. Moral of the story: no more AMAZON for me!
