Customer Review: Searching For Something Better
Summary: 2 Stars

This is my second nose hair trimmers that I've purchased in the past 5 years or so. The first one that I had was really good and I wish I could buy it again, unfortunately I can't remember where I got it or what the brand was. So I purchased this nose hair trimmer from Panasonic because my first pair was slowly falling apart.

The trimmer itself seems sturdy enough and looks good, but it never seemed really cut my nose hairs at all. I would put it in my nose and I pull it out and it felt like nothing was actually being cut, just a bunch of whirling. I don't have a lot of nose hair at all and so the fact that this product was so ineffective leads me to believe that more thought went into the design of the device but not enough went into usability testing of whether or not it actually accomplished the goal cutting nose hairs.

After feeling somewhat frustrated by what I felt was the razor's poor performance, I pulled out the razor in the trimmer and compared it to that of my previous nose hair trimmers. I'm certainly not an expert, but the razor from this nose hair trimmer device didn't seem like it was engineered right. So I swapped out the razor from my previous device and put it in the new device. I have been using this device for the past year or so and it works much better, but it is still not great.

The bottom line is that this product didn't work well for me. Perhaps others out there will have a different experience, but I'm still looking for something that is more effective.

Customer Review: Doesn't do its job.
Summary: 1 Stars

I bought a Panasonic nose and ear hair trimmer some 6 years ago and was quite happy with it until it gave up its ghost. Upon ordering this new Panasonic ER430K ear and nose hair trimmer and using it for the first time, I have to agree with some of the other informed users: it's not doing its job! You really have to read the fine print on Panasonic's product description to learn that Panasonic changed the blade angle from 90 degrees to 60 degrees, presumably out of legal concerns because some idiots could sue Panasonic if they hurt themselves using the trimmer. The prior Panasonic devices, featuring a 90 degree blade/cutting angle were perfect for a close shave. This new, legally improved 60 degree arrangement does not cut/shave close enough and leaves 2 to 3 millimeter stubbles of hair in your nose and ears. No good. If I want to get rid of nose or ear hair, I want it gone, PERIOD, and not have stubbles remaining. If you're as perfectionist as I am, you will NOT want this "improved" Panasonic trimmer -- and, unfortunately, the way I understant it, this new blade/cutting angle applies to all Panasonic nose and ear hair trimmers. Amazon is amazing:) in its return policy -- and that's the way it should be. I got the full refund and am experimenting with other nose and ear hair trimmers. Actually, I just got a cheapo $9 Conair trimmer at Bed, Bath & Beyond, and it seems to be doing its job quite nicely. However, I will reserve my final verdict until another trim.

Customer Review: My nostrils are so clean you could eat off them!
Summary: 4 Stars

I am blessed with hairy nostrils. It's a sign of wisdom, and virility. Okay, so it helps when I think about it that way. Anyhow, I've tried a number of trimmer models and brands, but find that the Panasonics have the sharpest and most comfortable blades. If the blades aren't sharp, the hairs are pulled out before they're cut, and that kinda hurts! The Panasonic trimmers I've tried are also very well made, are nice and small, and very easy to hold / move around.

When my last trimmer became a little dull, I decided to replace it with a new Panasonic, and found the Panasonic ER430K on Amazon. It cost a little more than I had paid for this sort of item before, but based on my experiences with other Panasonic trimmers, I thought I'd go ahead and purchase it.

My immediate impression when I opened the box was that this was another excellent, well-made trimmer. It's a little bit bulkier than I had expected, but that's not surprising since it has the vacuum feature, and it wasn't hard to get used to. It comes with a nice case, and cap, too.

All in all, I'm completely satisfied with it, and I would recommend Panasonic ER430K to anyone considering a trimmer purchase.

Customer Review: When you've become a old man it's time to upgrade
Summary: 5 Stars

I just turned 30 and my nose hair has started to get out of control. I guess I just assumed that it wouldn't happen to me but, alas, it did. When I first noticed the occasional hair poking it's ugly head out of my nostril I decided to purchase a beard trimmer with a nose hair attachment. It was okay for those baby hairs but at some point in the aging process they got out of hand and I needed a solution. I debated spending $20 such a specialized product but it was absolutely worth it.

The product runs on a single AA battery, I'm using an Energizer Lithium battery for extended life. The unit is also larger than I expected, the size is required to support the vacuum motor and fan, but it's not too big, it fits comfortably in my hand. A cap is supplied to cover the end that spends the most time crammed into your nose. On said clip there is a small mirror in case you need to trim up when no mirror is available, an added bonus. The small black inconspicuous bag is also a nice touch. Now that I spent the money I sort of wished I would have spent a little more for a unit with a built-in light.

Customer Review: Sneeze-Free Nose Hair Trimming
Summary: 5 Stars

Ah -- Panasonic has solved a problem of long standing.

Every time I use a nose hair trimmer, the loose cuttings make me sneeze.

No more!

This Vacuum Nose-Ear Hair Trimmer works as advertised, sucking up the loose hair as it cuts, preventing the otherwise inevitable sneezing and nose blowing. And I guess it prevents cut hairs from falling into your inner ear too, although I don't think this has ever posed a problem for me ("what's that you said?")

Buyers should note that if the "mirror" on the cap appears dull and unreflective, you need to peel off yet another layer of plastic coating. There is a shiny, reflective glass mirror underneath, I assure you.

I also like the little cloth travel case included; my previous Panasonic nose trimmers lacked this feature.

Do I miss the light on this model? No, because the light never pointed at the trimming point any way -- it was more show than go.

Yes, this nose trimmer definitely sucks -- and I mean that in the very best way! Recommended.
