Customer Reviews of Panasonic ER430K Vacuum Nose/Facial Hair Trimmer, Black

Customer Review: Not very useful
Summary: 3 Stars

This trimmer, while looking sophisticated in photos, is not really very useful. If you just want to trim your nose and in-the-ear hair, then buy it with confidence - it does a great job in trimming those hair. But I was disappointed when I finally got it and used it. It does not cut at all other hair - all those hair all over your ears, all those almost invisible hair on your upper cheeks, etc. I had a trimmer for about 14 years until its motor burned out - it cut all those other hair and I also used it to cut hair in my arm pits and even my pubes. Plus another good thing about that old trimmer was that as it worked all hair fell off instead of depositing inside it. But this trimmer collects all hair inside its cutting cap that I have to remove and clean after every use. I cannot use it on arm pits and pubes also because those big hair would collect inside it and might damage it.

I would say do not buy it - you probably need a multi-purpose trimmer like the one I had for 14 years.

Customer Review: my first trimmer!
Summary: 4 Stars

Well this is my first "nose hair" trimmer ever. I'm glad that i purchased it. Though i hate that i actually need it. This particular model works ok. I dont know if other models have more than two cutting blades but this one could use four or five. It seems as though this would help out. With out the extra blades, and the fact that the two rotating blades that it does have sit pretty far down into the device - it seems as though this unit requires a lot of manual manipulation once inside your nose "in and out then turn the unit, in and out then turn again". Don't know if this is normal because this is my first unit. The vacuum feature is definitely a plus. Beware when you are rinsing out the head of nose hair clippings. The tiny actuator parts that are non steel have a tendency to want to float right out of the head and right down your sink drain! Other than that it will do the job with a little of your effort.

Customer Review: Comfortable, painless trim.
Summary: 4 Stars

Seeking to avoid the "Lon Cheney as the Wolfman!" look from vintage movie posters, I bought one of these a couple months back.

So far, I'm pleased. It trims nose hairs and upper mustache hairs well (though I'll be honest, it tickles the bejesus out of my nose!), ear hairs, and I've even used it on a few errant eyebrow hairs that were getting out of hand. It comes apart easily for cleaning, and being able to put it under the faucet is a really nice feature.

The only caveat that keeps it at 4 stars is that it sometimes takes 3-4 passes to get all the hairs you're afer. Some of this is due to learning how to hold it, and some is due to the cylindrical guard on the blade, which makes it a little tricky to get the hairs and the blades in contact. Still, it's better than cutting your nose open with an exposed blade, so I'm not complaining.

Good trimmer, great cleanup.

Customer Review: Excellent Nose Hair Trimmer
Summary: 5 Stars

This is my first nose hair trimmer and I am really impressed with both comfort and results. I feel like a cave man for not having owned a device like this before. The unit cuts well and doesn't pull my hair; it cuts hair down to a stubble length as you work it around the nostril. Speaking of nostrils, mine feel glorious right now; I can't remember the last time my air flow felt so unimpeded. It easily cuts hair in many areas that are difficult and time consuming to reach with scissors. The vacuum sucks up most of the trimmings and the blade housing can be easily taken apart and cleaned. It runs on one AA battery (not included). What's not to like?

With such solid performance, I can't understand any of the negative reviews... particularly considering how inexpensive this trimmer is. It does a great job for less than a Jackson (shipped).

Customer Review: Good, but not perfect...
Summary: 4 Stars

Well I bought this trimmer in high hopes I wouldn't have to bother with nose trimmings making me sneeze and such. So I got the box and unpacked the thing which wasn't hard to do, stuck a battery in the bottom and tried it out. It worked well enough I suppose, it cut the hairs but only vacuumed up some of the hair while leaving others behind. I' say it vacuumed up about 50%, so obviously I sneezed a few times...

A few other things, the "mirror" on the cap is dull and not really good for anything. The case is made of decent quality cloth with a slight velvety feel to it but sufficient. Also, to clean the thing is not the easiest thing in the world.

Overall a good trimmer, but not perfect. 4 stars because it accomplishes it's main function... Cutting the hair.
