Customer Review: Not an improvement over the ER411

I dropped my old ER411 a few days ago and it never recovered from that injury, so I decided to give the ER430K a shot. However, I am unable to recommend this model -- it simply didn't work as well as my old workhorse.
My main gripe is that the ER430K took repeated poking and prodding to get any hair to come in contact with the blade, and was unable to reach shorter hairs at all. At first, I thought I had failed to remove a packing piece, especially since the ER430K's blade-tip is a rounded plastic nub with blades on either side. But according to the manual, the unit was ready for use with the exception of a battery.

This is a must! This product does what it says. I have used others from Sharper Image and they just didn't cut it like this does. It's very easy to use and will remove those stubborn hairs in the nose and ears without any problem at all. Very easy to clean and easy battery change. It comes with its own velvet storage bag and even has a mirrored cap to allow you to see when using this. The built-in vacuum makes it a "no mess" way of taking care of sucking up all the hairs this unit cuts. You will be amazed as to how well this product works compared to others on the market. When I opened the box I thought I was shipped a 65 Buick Skylark. Which is like really big for a nose hair trimmer so I returned it. The problem was it had this 60s car fin shape. So it really did look like an old Buick. I didn't want to dedicate so much medicine cabinet or suitcase space to a trimmer so back it goes. I would recommend buyers look into a combo beard trimmer with a nose ear hair trimmer function. From the other reviews I assume it would function well but it was almost insanely large. I can't believe I have expended this much energy on buying a nose hair trimmer.Customer Review: Thick nose hair

I have used this trimmer a few weeks now and do not fear using it inside my nose at all. I was weary of sticking a spinning blade in my nose but this trimmer does not yank the hairs. Plus it does an adequate job of sucking the clippings out of my nose. Its not perfect because I still blow my nose afterwards but only a couple of hairs remain. The cutting feature is so safe that now I dig the trimmer in my nose every which way to cut the nose hair and I am confident that I'll get good results with no pain. Highly recommend if you are tired of yanking hairs out of your nose.Customer Review: Why can't someone make a trimmer as good as the OLD Sharper Image one?

While this is the best of a bad lot I've tried since my OLD Sharper Image trimmer broke, it's no where near as good as that one. But the new Sharper Image one is both more expensive and doesn't look to be as good as this (although I may try it next if I can't find anything else that looks better). It's frustrating that they would take off the market the only trimmer that worked great for both nose and ear hair, but since I know how good one of these can be, I know this one isn't as good as it can be. But it may well be the best on the market, but I'm going to keep trying.
