Customer Reviews of Panasonic ES4026NC Pro Curve Rechargeable Double Blade Wet/Dry Men's Shaver, Blue/YellowCustomer Review: Very good shaver Summary: 4 Stars
A friend of mine gave me a Benfini Salons shaver this past Christmas. I had never used an electric shaver before, but always wanted to try one. I found it to work fairly well, but not as close as a blade. But I liked the idea of the electric, so I then began reading reviews of other shavers to consider buying a better one. I discovered that this Benfini shaver appears to be the Panasonic ES4026NC with some minor cosmetic changes. In reading about the Panasonic, I learned that it could be used in the shower, which the instructions for the Benfini version did not mention. Wow! I get a terrific shave in the shower with a little shampoo smeared on my face first. I truly get just as close as a blade, with just a few passes, except in some areas under my jaw and right on the jaw line. If I try too hard to get those areas as baby smooth as the rest of my face, I do get some razor burn. For these reasons, I can not give it five stars, but it comes close (less close if used as a dry shaver). It cleans up easily under the shower head, and the battery holds a charge through several shaves. The price is great, too.
Customer Review: Just Figured This Shaver Out For Best Shave - USE WITH SHAVING CREAM Summary: 4 Stars
I have never had a wet/dry shaver before. But my Norelco finally died and I did not want to spend over $100 for a new one. So i found this one on Amazon and for the price I thought I would give it a try. I have had it now for 8 days. First 6 days I used it dry with a little pre-shave lotion and it was pretty hard to get a decent shave. Had to go over it several times and had to use the trimmer to get some of the long hairs. So yesterday I tried it this way. I wet my face and then put a thin layer of Barbasol Shaving cream over my face. Then I wet the razor head and it was so different. It glided over my face and gave me a very good shave with no pressure and got all the hair. Rinsed off my face and took the head off the razor and held it under hot water to clean and ran water over the head and that's it. So I recommend that you use this as a wet shave only with shaving cream and you will love it. I have got in the habit now of putting it on the charger after every use or every two uses for the best performance.
Customer Review: Poor function and quality Summary: 2 Stars
The unit is rated for wet or dry use, but beware. The charger hole in the bottom is NOT waterproof. This means you can use it with shaving cream or gel, and rinse the head, but don't take it into the shower and let it get rained upon, and definitely don't immerse it in water.
Beyond that, I found that the unit really does not give a good shave. If I hit the edge of my mustache, the unit will tug or pull hairs as it strains. When staying clean-shaven, this will not get any closer than "5 O'Clock Shadow". As in, if I use a 3-blade disposable, then use the Panasonic at end of day, the Panasonic won't get any closer. I've tried gel, cream, and dry. I've tried going different directions, different angles, etc. There's just too much internal gap between the blades and the foil to get even a vaguely close shave with this.
As such, I can't really recommend this. I mean, the price is good, but it just doesn't do what it's designed to do.
Customer Review: painfully slow and annoying Summary: 1 Stars
i just shaved and thought it's time to write a one star review for this little piece of ****. this is by far the worst shaver i have ever used. it is sooo annoying. i only shave every few days and this thing just can't handle stubble. and it takes forever. sometimes i am standing there for 10 or more minutes if i want all facial hair gone (and i don't have that much). it's ridiculous.
the side-shaver is useless because of the way it is designed. it easily folds back in when you use it, so you have to be careful and not apply too much pressure. why why why did they do this. what did they think!?
every time i use it i condemn it and wish i had bought a different kind. shame on panasonic for putting this on the market. stick to your old one if it still works, it is definitely better than this one.
i will destroy(!) it as soon as i have a new one. and this time i'll spend some more money. and i'm done with panasonic. ugh
Customer Review: Panasonic ES4026MC Shaver Summary: 4 Stars
Best shaver to get at such a low price! The design of this shaver is extremely functional with an ideal cutting area that's easy to maneuver around your face whether you're trimming a beard, shaving around a beard, or just shaving your entire face. Easy and comfortable to hold, the shaver holds a charge very well, is quiet, and shaves nice and close. The Panasonic line offers the option of a wet shave, including shaving with a foam or gel. I've found you get the most lubrication and closest shave using a gel such as Edge, but a dry shave is almost as close and smooth.
The pop-up edge trimmer works well and is easy to use. The charger base is about the size of a wall adapter, plugs directly into the outlet, and the shaver sits directly on top of the charger, so it's best used in the top outlet of a receptacle.
I think you'll be very happy with the choice of this shaver. The price and quality can't be beat!
