I ordered this new shaver for my husband based on other reviews and I needed a multi-surface shaver. My husband has course whiskers and a mostly bald/shaved head. He had used a Braun for about 10 years. He was really pleased with the performance over his face but wasn't expecting much difference on his head. He was wrong. This shaver performed great on his face and smoothed his tender head like a champ!
What do I as his wife, appreciate the most? QUIET!!! This shaver is very quiet compared to his Braun shaver. It's really just a hummmmmm.
Would I recommend it? ABSOLUTELY!

and i love kissing him now that his face is smooth. he had a self-cleaning braun razor that seemed good at the time, but does not hold a candle to this guy. it's wet dry, so you can use it in the shower, with shaving cream, producing such a clean, smooth shave.
he also loves the tacky charging/drying station (even though it takes up a lot of space on the counter and puts on laser show if i ever wander in at night). the design could not be more stereotypically male, equal parts sports car and gi joe. and the box describes the shaver as "linear" and "curve" all in one breath. foofy but fun.

I purchased this shaver based upon other reviews I had read. Botom line is when used dry it gets very close but you can still feel some stuuble. When used wet with shave cream it's almost as good as a Mach 3 blade and gel. But if you want a completely smooth head nothing beats a Mach 3 blade when used with a gel.
This shaver works great in-between those blade shaves when a perfectly smooth scalp is not necessary. I give it a thumbs up !!

I bought the ES8078S at the beginning of December and let me tell you I will not go back to blades again. This electric razor has been flawless. On my face, it truly does shave closer than a blade. I can now shave everyday instead of every other day I would shave with the blade due to sensitive skin. I am still shaving on the initial charge and couldn't be happier with the battery's stamina. I do use the Hydra Cleaning System everyday so in the morning the razor is always fresh and clean. The Hydra Cleaning System does a great job and the cleaning cartridges last about 30 days. I just changed out my 1st one today. I have nothing bad to say about this razor...It is a masterpiece! Buy this razor; you can't beat the price and you can't beat this razor!!!
