Customer Review: Do not buy.
Summary: 1 Stars

I have been trying to use this Shaver for a month now, and it still will not shave my neck, and I have to go over my face slowly about 4 time before it starts it even feel like I might be getting a close shave. I have tried it in the shower wet and before or after the shower, it still don't work. Oh but it sounds like it does! In the shower with a little gel on my face, this thing sound like it cutting every hair I have, but when I rinse off my face, I see that it didn't shave as well as I would like and that I'm still going to have to go back over my neck with a razor. If I was a 60 year old man, this would be OK. But no, I'm 27 trying to make a like for my self, and if my boss saw I can't even shave right, what's he going to think?

The battery life is good, last about a week with one 5 minutes each day. The cleaner / charger is really loud so the only time I can use it is when I'm not home. For a $140 shaver, I was expecting a lot more. Save your money and try something else.

Customer Review: Closer than Braun, but not as comfortable,
Summary: 5 Stars

I have both a Pulsonic 9595 and the Panasonic ES8168. The Panasonic is close, but maybe too close! I came away with two nicks that needed light Steptic liquid to stop what was light bleeding on my upper lip. I use it for occasional touch-ups about an hour or two after shaving heavy stubble. The Braun is never uncomfortable, on long stubble it's a dream, most comfortable shave with the vibration, consumer search Validates this, (Consumer search testers whomever they are). I shave first, than shower...if you want the ultimate shave, finish with the 360 Complete, it's closer(Not by much), but not as comfortable as the Pulsonic on first cut. The finish which is not uncomfortable, after having the main stubble off. What the hell am I doing, when you have a face shaped like a brick, the blade requires a steptic pencil(Always). This all has been an experiment to get around daily trauma, I am finally comfortable @ 47, no nicks! And yes you would spend serious money to get around this...

Customer Review: Great shaver my Dad loves it!
Summary: 5 Stars

Panasonic ES8168S Men's Vortex Hydra Clean System with Convex Cutting System

My Mother wanted to get My Dad a new electric razor for his Birthday.

The old one just did not shave close enough for him.

I went online and read many reviews of different shavers.

I found this one. My Dad absolutely loves this shaver. It shaves closer than any other that he has tried. I shopped around to get a good price and with the coupons I found online, Mother got a good deal!

As soon as I took it over to them, Dad opened and charged it. He used it immediately and we could hear it cut hairs even though he had already shaved earlier with his old razor. It cut even closer!

I would recommend this shaver to everyone. If it is good enough for MY DAD, then it is good enough for your Dad too.

Customer Review: INCREDIBLE
Summary: 4 Stars

The shave I received from thsi product was INCREDIBLE. It was obscenely close such that I was surprised when I finished. It is a bit pricey, but seems to be worth the money. The auto clean function is very handy for keeping a sharp blade. NOW THE BAD NEWS..this was my first electric razor and as a black man it shaved way to close. I developed hair bumps immediately within a day. If it was not for that, I woul dhave kept but sadly returned the product. If ingrowns are not a problem for you, this gives a super close shave. Just another black man in search of a shave product that won't give me ingrowns. I have moved on to a throwback, the Remington ES-1000. Good luck to me. FYI, for all you ingrown suffers, there is a great prescription product (Canadien only) that eliminated initial stages of ingrowns overnight....Neo-Medrol. An acne medication that has the side benefit of controlling hair bumps. Put it on and I am bump free!

Customer Review: Not as good as the previous generation
Summary: 3 Stars

While more technically sophisticated and able to provide a close shave, the ergonomics seem to have gone down since the last one I had of a previous generation. The handle is made to fit best exactly one way in my hand while the old version was a straight bar that was easy to hold pointed the way I want. I suppose the flexible head on the new model helps make up for it but I still liked the old one (ES8036) better and would rather have just replaced the battery, if I could have found one. The trimmer on this is narrower than the old model, too. It works, just not as well. I could not care less about having a display on the handle. The old model had five LEDs that lit and blinked when I turned it on and off so the new model's LCD showing percent charge isn't worth the investment. Note to Panasonic: loose the fancy handle, display and floppy head; bring back the wider trimmer; sell replacement batteries.
