Customer Reviews of Panasonic EV2610K Easy Reach Dual Chopper Hand-Held Massager, Black/SilverCustomer Review: THIS MASSAGER IS NOT LIKE MY OLDER MODEL REACH EASY! Summary: 2 Stars
About 15 years ago I bought my first Reach Easy Massager to help me deal with knee and back issues. Since we spend part of the year in Michigan and the rest of the year in Arizona, I decided to buy a second massager. My old Reach Easy works great. However, I cannot make that statement about the newer model. I do not like the way this massager works. It makes either a chopping or slapping movement. Additionally, I have not been able to get it to just vibrate at the correct intensity for my knees, hands, feet or upper arms.
The one positive thing I can say is that the newer model reaches the center of my lower back better than the older model does. The curve design makes it easier to use on the lower back area.
So, if you are looking for a massager that chops and slaps, this just might be the one for you. However, if you are like me and looking for a massager that can be used on joint areas, you might want to consider buying a different massager.
July, 2010
Well after using the massager for a while, I have to add to my comments. I have gotten use to the chopping and slapping on my lower back. I use the massager 15 minutes on the right side and then 15 minutes on the left. Afterwards my back feels great, even better than when I used my older massager. However, I haven't adjusted to the chopping and slapping motion on my knee joints, yet. I hope that eventually I will get use to the amount and type of pressure that the massager exerts on my knees.
Overall, I am pleased with the massager.
Customer Review: Don't waste your money on this. Summary: 1 Stars
This thing is just a waste of money. The awkward shape is very uncomfortable to massage back, neck, shoulder, or anywhere. I thought the tapping massage would be good for my shoulders, but after trying this with so many different angle or direction, I never could find it comfortable, or effective. To give enough tapping effect to shoulders (or anywhere), I have to give some amount of pressure, but this awkward design just makes it so hard and its so cheap-ish light weight doesn't help it too.
Don't waste your hard earned money for this. I think I made a mistake but you don't need to make another. Please spend a bit more money and get something like MAX Percussion Massager MAX Percussion Massager
or ("http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=MAX+Percussion+Massager&x=0&y=0").
I bought the $99 unit and it is just amazing and every penny is worth for it.
Customer Review: Wonderful handheld therapeutic massager Summary: 5 Stars
This handheld massager is by far the most realistic one that I own. It really mimics different hand motions of a real person performing therapeutic massage. Especially the chopping and fist hammering actions which no other handheld massager out there can do, period. It is very powerful, but easy to handle. This massager needs to be used correctly to give satisfactory result and it is not that hard to do so. The mechanism only engage to the full power when the massager is pressed down with some force onto the area that you desire. Without pressing the massager down, it does not do a whole lot. "Hurt so good" is the best term to describe both how this massager is to be used correctly and what the result it will give you. I enjoy large muscle chopping and hammering, and even more so the deep trigger points stimulation that this massager is fully capable of. I am planning to get a second one, so I can use them at the same time just might feel like the real thing. Highly recommended.
Customer Review: What happened Panasonic? Summary: 2 Stars
It's hard to believe the same company that made the awesome Panasonic ev278w massager made this thing fifteen years later. This is the replacement. It's just a sad shadow of the 1995 product which I still use and it can get the pressure points in ways this thing can't. The heads and power just are too broad and too weak. I think maybe(?) the ev278w massager was too powerful and they have down powered the thing to this level for legal reasons??? It's just not enough if you know what it use to be. This one is the only one in the Panasonic arsenal that compares at all with the ev278w. My old one is starting to rattle after 15 years of use. It's like seeing a faithful dog die a little with each rattle. THAT was a foot massager for 35 dollars. This one is like a little gnat tapping on your foot.
Customer Review: Best massager ever for sore neck and shoulders... even better than the Thumper II! Summary: 5 Stars
I don't understand the previous reviewer's comments about not being able to use this unless sitting. I was lying down last night on my stomach and it worked great on my back! I like it better than my Thumper II because it's much easier for me to handle being more lightweight! I was never able to handle the Thumper on my own. And I love all the massage choices, especially the chopping motion... it's as if someone is pounding on my back, and it's so targeted that I can spend as much time as I want at one location without it itching as with most massagers! (I have an hour to an hour and a half commute to work each way, so my neck and shoulders get extremely sore.) I love it so much I bought another one for my boss, and am thinking of giving one to everyone in my family for Christmas!
