Customer Reviews of Panasonic EW1270AC Portable Oral Irrigator

Customer Review: Phillips Sonicare Sonic Toothbrush
Summary: 5 Stars

Outstanding product. I bought it for my wife who has only used manual toothbrushes in the past and finally decided to "take the plunge." It is so great, that I plan to purchase one for me (to replace my older Braun 2-speed Oral B). The Phillips has a built-in UV Sanitizer (I don't know how well it works, but use it anyway), is higher pitched sound (which, I am told by my dentist, is patented at the best sonic pitch). I can also take the additional portable re-charger on long trips. The Braun has such a large re-charger that, except for short trips which don't require re-charging, is impractical to take. Subjectively, I believe that the overall quality is better than the Braun. My dentist recommends it (but he also sells it at a profit, so I can't assume his "objectivity"). I give it 5 stars.

Customer Review: Good Portable Unit
Summary: 3 Stars

This Irrigator performs fairly well, but not great. I bought it as a replacement for my WaterPik that unfortunately died after one year of use. The WaterPik was cordless with a rechargeable battery and it was somewhat more powerful. You could not, however, travel with it unless you brought along its base unit. This unit (Panasonic) uses disposable batteries that require replacement each month if used daily. It is, however, therefore better for travel than the WaterPik. I think while the Panasonic is not quite as powerful it probably does an adequate job of cleaning the gum pockets; which my dentist says is the real benefit of using an Irrigator. I use it everyday after brushing and my dentist says he sees an improvement in my dental hygiene and, more specifically, health of gums.

Customer Review: Great product in its class
Summary: 5 Stars

Based on the cost and the limitation associated with a portable device (battery powered), this product performs very well. The water pressure is not as strong as my full size waterpik, but I can carry it along anywhere and also use it at work.
Some time, I have to refill the water to get the job done, but that is OK because I prefer to keep the size as is. If there is any complaint I have to make is the water pressure, but I prefer to have this way rather than having higher pressure, but has to add power adapter or bigger/heavier design.
I think the AA size battery is excellent choice of design compared to irreplaceable rechargeable battery. I cannot say much with the durability yet since I have not reached 4 months of usage yet - otherwise it is fine.

Customer Review: Works very well
Summary: 5 Stars

I have had the Panasonic for about 2 months now and it is great. It is much more gentle on my gums then flossing. I have tight teeth in spots and it takes a lot of pressure to get floss between them. Sometimes the floss really pops in and hurts my gums.

This irrigator works almost as well between teeth as floss but cleans out the gums in front and behind the teeth better then floss. It leaves my mouth feeling very refreshed.

I plugged up the drain and watched what came out after a few meals and let's just say it does it's job well.

Battery life has been very good - better than I expected. You do have to refill once or twice but it is quick and easy and not an issue.

I will be buying another for my wife.

Customer Review: The Panasonic is the best portable irrigator
Summary: 5 Stars

The story is this. I bought a Panasonic (older model EW176 )and a Water Pick oral irrigator years ago while using braces for use in my office.

Water Pick was large and bulky, battery charge didn't last long, leak water, slight mess, will rate zero stars.

The old Panasonic, battery life is very good, I can replace batteries using regular batteries, never lost pressure, no leaks, still working today. Is great if you have braces. Pressure is very good, some home electric machines have too much pressure that could make your guns bleed. The pressure is perfect for this unit. It has been more than five years and still working like in the first day.

Works so good that I just bought a second one (new model) for home use.
