Customer Reviews of Panasonic EW3109W Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor (White)Customer Review: Excellant Home Blood Pressure Machine Summary: 5 Stars
Recieved my Panasonic EW 3109 Automatic Home Blood Pressure machine. My purchase & delivery with Amazon.com as always was perfect and recieved well before projected delivery date.
I have been using this machine just over a week now and am very pleased with it's performance as well as it's unique design. I sought out this design as I have been performing home blood pressure checks for over 10 years since being diagnosed with severe Hypertension.
I have purchased and gone through about a dozen monitors from Walgreen brands to Omron, which are suppose to be highly recommended. I have found these other brands to not last long and several units readings were 50 % to 75 % inaccurate to doctors office readings.
So far delighted and time will tell of it's standing up to multiple daily readings.
High recommendation !
Customer Review: Simple, convenient monitor Summary: 4 Stars
My time with this Panasonic BP cuff spans about a week's worth of readings. Never having taken my own blood pressure before, I can't really compare it to anything else. (Except perhaps the nurse's at my doctor's office.)
It's dead simple to use, reasonably portable, provides quick readings, and has yet to error out on me. The cuff is easy to wiggle into and secure via the velcro pads. Numbers seem to come back in under a minute, by my internal stopwatch. The readings are close to those from the last few doctors' visits and blood donations. There is little to say beyond that, in terms of functionality.
The price was surprisingly economical. The only reason my rating lacks a fifth star is the desire for Panasonic to throw in the AC adapter. I would have paid $10 - $12 more for the adapter.
Customer Review: Good price, good product Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this because a nurse sent me home with a Blood Pressure Record slip. I figured it was worth $35 to save me the inconvenience of having to constantly swing over to a store that had a blood pressure machine.
After using this for several weeks, I found that the numbers taken at home were lower than what they were when I went to the doctor's office or the store. I believe this has more to do with my calmer demeanor (at home) than an inaccuracy with the machine. A good thing too as it shows that my BP is within a normal range.
It's bigger than I thought it would be from looking at the picture, but that's not a problem with me. Stores in the bag it came with quite nicely. Easy to take out, sit down, and get a quick measurement. The quality of the device feels very solid as well.
Customer Review: OK, but not convinced it's accurate Summary: 3 Stars
I have high blood pressure and have begun working out, so I thought it wise to be able to monitor my blood pressure and heart rate at home. The readings suggested I had a miraculous recovery from high blood pressure, so I took this with me to a doctor visit, checking my blood pressure immediately after they did. Having worked in the medical field for several years, at least I know I was doing it correctly. The numbers were off a bit, though not enough to cause real concern, so the new lower BP was proven real. I wouldn't rely on this as being 100% accurate or in lieu of following up with my doctor on a regular basis, but use it as a tool to watch for off-the-chart numbers when I exert myself significantly more than usual.
Customer Review: Easy to use and accurate Summary: 5 Stars
This is the third blood pressure monitor I've purchased in the past year. The first two (made by a different, often highly recommended manufacturer; see my other reviews) gave inaccurate readings so I returned them to Amazon. This one, which I've had for about a month, seems to be much better. I compared it to the BP monitor at my doctor's office and it was very close (3 points lower on the systolic and 5 points lower on the diastolic, which the nurse said were close enough readings for the monitor to be considered accurate, especially because the readings were taken on different arms). I also like it better than the previous model that I bought; it's smaller, lighter, quieter, and very easy to use. I recommend this.
