Customer Review: Good accessory for a Vortec Panasonic shaver.

This cleaning cartridge is a no-brainer if you own a Panasonic Vortex shaver. These cartridges contain cleaners, cutting blade lubricants and a filter, to keep your shaver blades clean and in proper condition. They are very simple to install in the cleaning base; they last a month or so, are solidly constructed and they work very well. A plus for these shaver cartridges is that they work with just plain tap water; no alcohol-type chemicals are used here. You can choose to clean the blades with just ordinary soap & water, which Panasonic says is an alternative, but I don't recommend it unless you have to, such as when traveling, as you won't be lubricating them and you allow the finely machined blades to be vunerable to whatever damage may befall them. This is a fine product and truly worth the price.Customer Review: Does not last nearly as long as they say

If you just put the shaver in the cleaner, it does not last 30 cleanings, at least for me - and that is consistent (after 17 to 21 cleanings, the red light comes on). I suppose if I took the extra time to pre-clean before cleaning, then it would last longer. But, that adds time I do not have, and the whole point was that it was supposed to be you just drop in and it cleans. The Braun one did last a real 30 cleanings. The problem seems to be the way the cleaner works. Because it is a dry powder that water is pushed through, it clogs at the top. I can see there is plenty of soap under the top, but it is clogged at the top with hair. So, assume you will get less time unless you clean the shaver 1st or you have slow beard growth.Customer Review: Works fantastic, as expected for my Vortex Nano Hydraclean System II

I have the Panasonic Vortex Nano HydraClean System II - Silver shaver and these replacement cartridges are just what the doctor ordered.
My original one that came with lasted a while (few months, I don't shave every day). They leave it looking and feeling like new, and completely disinfected to prevent ugly razor burn or infections.
Works great, and the subscription option is neat. Why pay shipping when you don't have to, and can receive these every few months at an additional 15% discount. Thanks Amazon since the store I bought this razor doesn't sell the replacements!!! absurd

I knew when I bought this self cleaning razor that Panasonic would continuously gank me on the cleaning cartridges. Don't get me wrong, I like the razor and the self cleaning system, but as I expected the price of the cartridges keeps going up and up and up. I don't blame Amazon, it is Panasonic to blame because a quick online search will show that it is not just Amazon that is rasing the price on this. Still, if you're stingy with replacing it you can get maybe 1.5 to 2 months out of a cartridge which means you'll be blowing a bit less than a Ulysses S. Grant each year on this shaving system.
Still, with all that said, I'm ordering my semi-anual refill today... cha-ching.

I just changed the cleaning cartridge for the 1st time and it was fairly easy. When I got the razor and set up the cleaner/charger it was a little bit awkward to install the cartridge. This time went much better and I'm sure it will continue to get easier each time I replace the cartridge. The cartridge lasted approx 30 days as promised. The cleaning/drying/charging cycle is a bit lengthy but this isn't a problem for me. I previously used the Braun cleaning/charging system and the batteries in the razor failed prematurely. Braun's warranty repair procedure was impossible to deal with so I switched to Panasonic and thus far I have been pleased with the razor and the cleaner/charger system.
