Reading the reviews here you might get the wrong opinion. They are $8 currently. What do you want for $8?
Perhaps you may find similar ones for $6-$8 or more in Walmart or Target. I have. These really aren't designed to be placed
on your coffee table as decoration. I place them in less obvious places. Behind lamps behind my TV. You get what you pay for.
The scents are very nice. Granted they are not strong. I've used others and never found one that was strong after a few weeks.
Maybe the reeds get water logged with the liquid and stop wicking as well? They are strong enough to handle an average sized room.
If you want an extra boost you flip the reeds every now and again. I found them to be a good value for what I got.
