This will probably be the closest that I will ever get to using skis...however, these have been a God send. Tennis balls are okay, but they wear so quickly especially when using on concrete or asphalt. These not only last longer, but also smooth the way.
Excellent choice, however, tennis balls are a better choice for someone who needs to have some resistence when walking (new walker user, folks who move slowly).

I injured my left knee on ice and used a walker with nothing on the back legs. The legs caught and I was thrown, injuring my other knee. I tried tennis balls but they wore out too quick. These ski guides work well and last about one year, which is better than tennis balls! I used the cheaper version that just slide into the back legs, but they tend to work themselves out after awhile.
