Customer Review: Bright, compact, and durable

This light is quite bright, casting light sky blue (ie the blue you see when you stare away from the sun on a sunny day).
It's much more compact and convenient than the bulb unit I used to use, which did not fit well on my desk and was generally obtrusive. Certainly you couldn't travel with it (the GoLite comes with a travel pouch and can run on batteries, optionally).
A nice testament to the GoLite's quality is that I have several times knocked it off of my desk onto a tile floor and it still works perfectly. The seams where parts join are still tightly sealed (something I wish I could say of my cell phone) and the hinged cover is just fine.

First, BEWARE of terrible return policy from The Natural Health Shoppe! Once it's opened, NO RETURN. I foolishly thought the return policy would be like Amazon's or I would not have taken a chance spending so much money. Now I wasted all that money because I'm one that this does not work for. No matter where I place it in my field of vision, all those little bright LEDs make a glare in my eyes, even at 50%, and I end up with eyestrain and a headache, and my vision is staying washed out for the whole day. Definitely no mood improvement for me. I have a Blue Max 10,000 lux lamp and that works wonderfully.
I thought this might be good to take places and travel with. Too bad!
Customer Review: P1 Golite NO LONGER SUPPORTED BY PHILLIPS

I bought this last year and feel it worked.
However,
I just contacted Phillips who acquired the Golite brand at 800-545-9667 to see if I could get
a product user manual and maybe check into a battery upgrade. (it would be VERY nice for it to be portable)
The woman who answered was not helpful and not so nice,,, everything I asked was an annoyance to her and she told me
to call back and ask for "Kathy". (wouldn't take my number) I was told this P1 model is discontinued an no longer supported.
Take this into account when you consider a purchase and maybe give a test call before you plunk your money down.

I bought this in hopes it would help my winter depression, and it definitely did. I used it for a few weeks and everything seemed fine but I wasn't real sure if it was actually making me happier, so I stopped for 2 days and I had really bad days. My father also uses this light and it really helps him. Using this light every morning makes a huge difference in how I feel and if I get lazy and don't do it one day I suffer the consequences. If you suffer from S.A.D I would definitely get this item, it's much healthier than getting a prescription and it's cheaper.
I've had mine for 4 months and my father has had his for over a year and we've had no lights go out.

I have always been a night owl, finding it very difficult to sleep at night, feeling most energetic in the evening. Since I've started using the GoLite, I've been waking in the morning at the time I want, and getting sleepy at night. It is much easier to get to sleep and rise when I want to. The GoLite has worked fantastically for me. It is programmable, so when I sit down at my desk in the morning, I plug it in, and hit a button and it's on. It shuts itself off too. Only improvement I can think of for the GoLite is a button to "Pause" treatments. The GoLite is by far the best purchase I've made for myself, regarding health. Absolutely.
