I got my Philips Norelco 1050CC arcitec for Christmas and love it. I have used a Norelco for about 15 years and this is the best one yet. I love the cleaning system it works great I have read orther reviewer's that didn't like the fact that it dose not turn off when it's done cleaning but there is a simple soloution just use one of those plug-in timers and set it for two hours and you can use the cleaner when ever you want to and you will have no worry's about running the battrey down. The shave is very close and confortable.The only bad point is the Trimmer is in a bad location.I like that shave head is all one unit that makes it easy to keep clean and replace.Customer Review: DO NOT BUY THIS RAZOR!!!!!

The Philips Norelco Arcitec is the WORST shaving electric razor that Philips Norelco has ever made!!!! Stay away from it and the 8260XL which is just as bad. If your looing for a good electric razor that delivers a close comfortable shave then get the Philips Norelco 7340XL. It shaves WAY better than these higher priced models and it is on sale at Walmart for $39.99. While these other razors sell anywhere from $150.00 to $249.00 and they are a waste of money and dont shave worth a crap!!!! I have been shaving with electric razors for almost 40 years. Norelco has always had the best electric razors available. I've tried the other brands over the years, but always ended up returning them because they never matched the performance of the competing Norelco model. Well, Norelco has really raised the bar this time. This razor delivers a very close, comfortable shave. The cleaning/charging system is equally impressive. The jet cleaning solution gets pricy if it is replaced every 2 weeks as the Norelco manual suggests. I wonder if anyone out there has a suggestion for a substitute cleaning solution that is cheaper and equally effective?Customer Review: Skip the fancy technology, stick with their basic units

I am a long time user of Norelco shavers. Recently I purchased their new 1050X ARCITEC shaver. I do NOT like it. The grip (motor unit) is too small and not comfortable to hold while shaving. The floating head unit is too flimsy. The unit requires that the shaving units be opened and cleaned on EVERY use - a pain in the neck. I like the basic Norelco units and really like their SPEED-XL series shavers, which by the way are much less expensive than the Arcitec units. I my estimation, the Arcitec shavers are not worth their expense and I regret wasting my money on one. Stick with their standard units and enjoy their performance.Customer Review: Excellent Device and Cleaning System

The swiveling head and comfortable grip of the arcitec allow for a great shave.
Pros:
Battery life is phenomenal - lasted nearly a month on one charge
Can charge product in the cleaning station or in protected case/pod
Excellent contouring to the face for a great shave
Cons:
Cannot charge while shaving - must be in the cleaning system or charging pod
Does not charge while cleaning - requires some battery and then charges the device after the cleaning cycle is complete
Trimmer that pops out from the back-side is mediocre at best
