I have been shaving my face with Norelco razors for over 30 years and the last 4 or so I have been shaving my head as well. The added stress on the razor is huge. While I probably have had 3 razors in the space of the first 20 years of shaving I have had three in the last 5 years including this one. While I was satisfied with the previous versions of the Norelco this one stands out. It does a much better job on my head without sacrificing the quality on my face. Time will tell on the life of this razor, but I can already testify the quality of the shave is outstanding.Customer Review: Most disappointing Norelco yet.

I've used Norelco products for 30 years and this is the only one that has ever disappointed me. It creates skin burn and takes forever to actually shave your beard and I don't even have a tough beard. After 6 months, the cleaning stand system quit working.
I pulled out my old Norelco Cool Skin 7775X, recharged it and was surprised at how much better of a shave I got with the old razor. Now I need to find a replacement head for the old one and trash the Arcitec.
Norelco makes great products, this is the exception that proves the rule.

I just bought this razor today and I'm kicking myself for not doing a little research first. It does look cool and the floating head made me think that it would give me a nice, close shave with little razor burn...not even close. I had to apply A LOT of pressure for it to even do what it's supposed to (which is shave hair off my face) and that gave me some awesome razor burn. Thanks Norelco! You will not get a consistent shave if you buy this razor. It's an over priced piece of junk and it's getting returned today. Thanks you.Customer Review: Norelco 1050CC arcitec shaving system

I have used a regular razor for years and was getting tired of expensive blades and cuts and nicks. I finally decided to try an electric razor again after having had one years ago and not being satisfied with the shave I was getting. I must say I am very happy with the arcitec shaver from Norelco! It's quick and easy and gives a good close shave. I love the fact that it automatically cleans itself which makes my life easier and prolongs the life of the rotary blades. This was a gift for my Day. Just opening the storage pod is difficult and putting it back in is almost impossible. I was surprised that there was no place to put head protective cover. Since you don't us it while self cleaning and it doesn't store in the pod it is sure to get lost. My dad wanted something that was self cleaning because he has a tough time putting the older units together afterward. I suspect that this shaver will just sit in a drawer regardless on how well it shaves.
