Customer Reviews of Philips Norelco 6423LC Reflex Plus Corded Men's Shaving SystemCustomer Review: So far, so good Summary: 5 Stars
I have been using the 6423LC shaver only a couple of weeks. When I began using it, I noticed that it made less noise than my old older Norelco corded shaver (3405LC ?). That concerned me because I wondered if the newer one would shave as well. It does! I had my older one for more than eight years, and it was still giving me good shaves until I discarded it. Simply replacing the circular cutters was another option, but for a few dollars more I decided to buy the current model. I do not shave in the shower nor find a line-cord problematical, and I do not see how a more expensive shaver could satisfy me more. What I do not know is if the newer model will serve as long as the older one and without even a cutter replacement in over eight years. Time will tell!
Customer Review: Great shaver - silly cord length and connection. Summary: 4 Stars
It truly is a pleasure using a shaver whose power is steady, unlike battery-powered ones that I've bought in the past. Knowing that this works on 110 and 220 lines, too, is comforting for travel. Fairly priced. It was received in only a couple of days! Considered buying the used/re-conditioned model to save [...] but was not convinced of the cleanliness. My only beef is with the super-short, coiled cord. Demanding that Norelco's customers stand within 18 to 24 inches of a plug doesn't make sense. Give me a cord twice that long and charge me an extra buck - I'd buy it and be a lot happier. I've had this only a month and the shaver stops a few times per week because the cord comes loose from the shaver. No way to lock it in. C'mon, Norelco engineers.
Customer Review: Norelco improves corded shaver Summary: 5 Stars
I've been buying the Norelco corded shaver for years. It's easy to select because Norelco normally has only one such model. And each model proves to be kind of the same as the previous model...pretty much the same quality shave, okay but not anything special. So you can see how surprised I am to find this year's model is absolutely superior to previous models. The heads appear to have had a design change, although they closely resemble my last unit (5 years old). The difference is in the shave! This razor provides a much closer shave, something I did not expect. Also this razor is very quiet, more quieter than previous models. I do hope these improvements do not disappear after a few months use. Time will tell.
Customer Review: Great For The Price - So What If It Has A Cord Summary: 5 Stars
I have been using these corded Norelcos for years. I buy a new one every so often because it's almost as cheap as the replacement blades. I have tried the more expensive cordless models but the results were the same. I have also tried foil shavers, but they are terrible for me. Fortunately I have electricity in my bathroom (I must be one of the lucky few, judging from the number of corded models available) and I actually like the fact that I don't have to mess with recharging or dead batteries (don't they always seem to die when you need them the most?). Shaving in the car also holds no appeal. So... if you want a decent electric razor for a great price: this is it.
Customer Review: Simple, efficient Summary: 5 Stars
I decided an electric razor would be the best route to go after I used up my final Gillette blade. It was a good choice. The Philips works almost perfectly, as long as you stretch your skin back (as it says in the directions) so that all hairs can be cut.
The only thing I would have to complain about would be the flip-up blade used for side burns. It doesn't cut quite as close as the regular head, but I decided just to use the regular head of the shaver on all parts of my face. But I just see the flip-up as an "option," not a "must," so it didn't really affect my shaving much.
This razor is much better than my old method, I'll just say that.
