I just purchased this razor last week and I am extremely pleased with the results. I have been a blade shaver for about 18 years but wanted to switch for convenience. I do find myself going over spots a couple of times, but I have had no problems with razor burn or anything. I also have fairly sensitive skin so I was very happy to have no irritation from switching over. Very quiet unit and charges up just fine. I would definitely recommend this product to any person wanting to switch to a new electric razor.Customer Review: Lousy razor

I have had this razor for perhaps 6 months and wish I would have had the sense to return it within the 30 days allowed. The main problem is the low speed at which this razor runs. Previous Norelcos that I have owned ran at much higher speeds and cut far more efficiently. The 7140 is hell on the neck, particularly with a 2 day growth and tends to pull hairs rather than cut them. I would pass on this razor unless you have a light beard. Don't ignore the 30 day return policy if you do decide to try this razor.Customer Review: Great Product

I've used Norelco products since I first started shaving 20 years ago. Each time I get a new one they get better and better. The Norelco 7140XL is no exception. The new features I am experiencing with this model are light weight, quiet, rinsable, and the way the whole razor head pivots inward (I'm not sure if this is their Precision Cutting System, Superior Lift & Cut Technology, or Patented Reflex Action Shaving System)when you press it to your face. After many years of good service, my Norelco 5841 XL gave up the ghost. Naturally, I wanted something as good or even better than the Norelco as a replacement. The first thing I noticed with the 7140XL is how quiet it is. I have only been using it for a month, but I feel I made an excellent choice. I really like being able to rinse it clean with water after each shave. If there is a way to be informed when the battery is low, I haven't discovered it. A charge will last me about a week to ten days.
