I was glad to find replacement heads for a Norelco 4601X, purchased in 2000, and no longer made. For a while, it seemed as though I was out of luck finding replacement heads, and the last set I bought were wearing out, and not shaving very well. So, I was enthusiastic about the HQ 55 heads, based on descriptions of their superior lifting capabilities. In reality, while these heads do a good job (and way better than the old ones), I don't feel they are quite as good as they are described. Bottom line, my aging shaver is still in service, and continues to provide a decent shave. (I still miss my corded 1967 Tripleheader, a Christmas present from Mom & Dad, which provided a smooth shave for more than 30 years!)Customer Review: It's like buying car parts

The heads, of course, work - and you'll get a much improved shave after you pry them out of their theft resistant packaging and carefully install them. They cost about 50% of a new corded razor though, so if you need any other part - like a the plastic head cover or a cord - you might be better off buying a new razor. If you have, as I do, a rechargeable model (and the batteries are still good), you might want to buy the cheapest corded model using the same head assembly and scavenger it for parts. The model 6423LC sells for less than $40 at Amazon today (12Apr08) and is the least expensive model I found there that uses the same head assembly.

I initially called a local store and asked a clerk to confirm if they had this product in stock. After about 15 mins on the phone, the clerk finally confirmed they only had (1) item available and could only hold it behind the counter until end of business that same day. Since I was unable to drive to the store right away, I ordered a set of replacement heads for my electric shaver through Amazon. They arrived within a few business days and were exactly the right model # I had requested. I have been using the Norelco Reflex Plus electric razor for 7 years now. With the new models that Norelco has introduced, the retail stores (Walmart, Target, etc.) have discontinued carrying the replacement razors for the Reflex Plus in favor of those for the newer brands. Therefore I got it from Amazon. It worked as well as the first time which is to say very well. This is a reliable no-fuss product and I am happy enough to continue using it for a long long time. I also do not see any need to switch to the newer models - the features that Norelco touts are marketing gimmicks as far as I can tell.Customer Review: HQ55+ Norelco shaver head replacements

I have had my 6834XL Norelco corded/cordless shaver for many years, but I had never replaced the blades. I noticed recently that I was no longer getting a very close shave, so I looked up the correct replacement blades on the Internet, and ordered them. Once I received the replacement blades and started using them, the difference was amazing! I am able to get as close a shave now as with a razor, and I am very happy that I have the new blades. I am also very pleased with the quality of the shaver overall, and how long it has lasted (at least for 5 years now).
