As my parents age, I am having to manage more of their needs. Daddy asked me to take his electric razor out & get the blades sharpened. I had no idea where, neither did he. My husband said you don't sharpen them, you get new blades. Among all the blades listed, I could not find Daddy's model number, but your customer service did. They quickly aimed me in the right direction, and the blades were delivered quickly. Installation was a bit of trial and error, but only took 5 minutes. Daddy is happy & handsome. I used to purchase these replacement heads directly from the Philips Employee Online Store. Every year I think that I could buy a new cordless razor every two years rather than spend $32 on replacements heads annually. I equate this to the self-propelled lawn mower syndrome: I could buy a new mower every two years for what it costs for two years of annual service and mulching blade sharpening. Anyway, I always give my razor a good cleaning when replacing the heads. Some years I notice a closer shave for a while; this year I didn't.Customer Review: Nice Razor -- Amazon packaging not green

The razor is awesome. I replaced the blades with this replacement set, and it works fine.
Amazon.com's packaging was tremendously wasteful. It was mailed in a 12"x9"x4" box, and the postage was quite high. The product itself was the size of an index card and could have been sent in a CD mailer or a "letter"-sized package. I understand that for efficiency they reduce the number of packaging options, but this seems a little excessive. If you bought one CD, would it come in a foot-long box?

The job my razor did certainly improved once I replaced the heads. The directions on replacing the heads was clear and concise; getting the package open was another issue, and the plastic was very tough, and you did not want to risk damaging anything. It was very clear that one replaces all three heads, and that job was very easy.
My Norelco razor has the model number on it, and the replacement heads are also specified by number, so if you lost the manual, you are not out of luck.

I went to Amazon.com to purchase a Norelco ReflexPlus-6 replacement razor head--HQ55 Plus. Amazon itself did not have the product, so they sent me to another company on their site. Although Amazon said the shipping would be free, the subsidiary company did not. And they sent me a Norelco Reflex head--not the plus 6 that I ordered. Although the instructions with the razor say Plus-6, the subsidiary company said no such part exists! Not a happy introduction to Amazon.com shopping.
