Customer Review: A great way to trim your beard!
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a great way to trim your beard. A definite step up from traditional trimmers. The magic in it is the vacuum that captures and stores trimmed beard and mustache hair instead of letting it fall into your sink to make a mess. You don't make your lady mad, and everyone is happy.

The trimmer itself fits comfortably in your hand. It has an detachable cord that allows the unit to be charged. It can operate on the cord or off it's batteries for cordless use. The trimmer is NOT submersible.

The attached guard can be adjusted to 9 length settings with a rotating selector. It can also be taken off for trimming necklines or other areas. There is also a separate smaller attachment that can be used for precision cuts.

The vacuum is power and made more powerful over earlier models through the use of the "Turbo" button that amps up the cutting power and vacuum power substantially. When you are done cutting your hairs are captured in a removable tray for disposal. There are still a few hairs that don't get sucked up but it a huge improvement over using trimmers without suction.

The only negatives are that the hair capture cup is a tad small. There is also a plastic piece that guides hair into the cup that makes neck and cheek-line trimming a little tricky until you get the hang of it.

Overall a great trimmer for those of us real men with beards. A must have!!

Customer Review: Excellent Product
Summary: 5 Stars

I have had the Norelco for over a month and use it regularly. I have not had some of the negative experiences others have had. It did not magically switch levels causing my beard to be cut unevenly. That was a real concern I had was that it would be so loose that it would not keep the proper height adjustment but I have not had a slip, a inadvertent level change, nor have I had a problem with the buttons switching from turbo to regular speed. I have read one should not "push too hard." I have not had to "push" at all. I read and followed the instructions and it has performed excellently. It has functioned very well. It is easy to clean and the vacuum actually works well. There is very little mess to clean up. I am sure every product purchased will have some kind of "negative," but I have not experienced any that were listed in the 1-2 star reviews. I liked it so much, that I bought the Norelco Arcitec electric razor. That is how much it impressed me! It is a trustworthy, reliable product that performs much better than the Remington and Wahl I previously owned. It even has done a remarkable job maintaining its charge. I am impressed with the Norelco products, their performance, and value. As with all products, I would recommend that you read the instructions on proper use and not just pull out of the box and wonder what is wrong or why it does not perform like your old trimmer.

Customer Review: Excellent Trimmer !
Summary: 4 Stars

I was apprehensive about buying an expensive trimmer, and wondered if a less expensive one would do the job of just keeping the goatee that I wanted to just the right length - just a stubble length. I did buy some cheaper models, but they turned out woefully bad, so much that I dropped the idea of keeping a goatee and just went with clean shaven for a while. But then I read all the great things that I read on this and decided to go for it. BEST PURCHASE !! I can have just the right length of trim that I want, in fact, I found that the shortest trim is a bit too short, it just gives the 5 o'clock shadow - so if thats the look you want, you wont be disappointed !! I use the # 2 length setting, and thats just right for a stubble - just enough to feel, but too short to actually grip any of the hairs.

I love the vaccuum feature, and although its not perfect vaccuum, you have to shave over the sink if you dont want stray bits of hair on the floor.. few hairs do escape the vaccuum, but use the trimmer for a few weeks and then check out the chamber, you would be surprised how much has been caught in. the fine trimmer attachment is ok, not so great to do the fine lines of a goatee, I got to do it quite a few times, but then I suspect nothing will ever come close to the perfection a blade can offer. This is as good as it gets !

Go for it, you wont be disappointed.

Customer Review: It sucks. And that's a good thing!
Summary: 4 Stars

I owned another Norelco beard trimmer with a vacuum in it ... until my wife broke it by knocking it off the shelf. But now I'm glad she did. On the old one, the vacuum was fairly useless because just as much hair ended up in the sink and all over the blade as in the catcher bin. Maybe more.

But the T980 Turbo (and don't all guys love stuff with "Turbo" in the description?) does the job. Yes, I know it has two settings: Turbo on and Turbo off. But I see no reason to use it with Turbo off because then it's just like the old underpowered version. But with Turbo on it collects nearly all those little hairs. (Some get away, but many fewer.)

Some people say that the Turbo is too loud, which is why they offer an option I suppose, but in our house the bathroom is far enough away and well-insulated enough that no one can hear it running full blast.

One caveat: It's better to trim the beard dry not wet. Remember to trim it before you get in the shower because when the hair is wet the vacuum still has trouble collecting the hairs, even on Turbo. Plus showering washes any remaining trimmings away. Yes, this may be self-evident to some of you, but I hadn't thought of it before. Keep in mind I'm doing this before morning coffee.

So no more little hairs all over my daughter after daddy kisses and snuggles her. I like the T980 trimmer.

Customer Review: LOVE IT!

I've owned this for like a week now and my first time using it I was FREAKEN amazed. I had a crappy old vacuum beard trimmer by Remmington that I replaced because It would never trim evenly, even if I really really tried, I'd always end up with a bald spot on my chinstrap haha. I actually finally dropped it one day and bent one of the plastic trimming guides so I said to hell with this damn thing!

I always trimmed in a downward fashion with my old one because if I went up it would reduce it to stubble even with the right length setting. So I busted this beast out set it to 4 turned it on and put it on turbo (sorry I'm a sucker for a things that say turbo hah)! The trimming head actually bends to the contours of your face and trims every single hair to the same height when shaving upward. Now my chinstrap no longer looks patchy it's just full and even, don't waste your time with scissors or a "bunk" trimmer, get this one! I didn't have a giant beard for my first shave but I'm sure this thing can get through the narliest of beards...not that you would ever wanna shave a good beard off. So for the beard lover and facial hair perfectionist, this thing does an A+++ job!

Just for review integrity I personally did not purchase this, my mother purchased it for me as a gift! :)
She, and the girlfriend loved the difference.
