Customer Reviews of Philips Sonicare Elite e7300 Power Toothbrush

Customer Review: Worth the money!
Summary: 5 Stars

Okay, I have to admit it seems expensive, but sometimes you have to pay a premium price to get a premium product.

I've owned a 7800 I purchased at the dentist a year and a half ago. The only problem I have with this toothbrush is that I am additcted to it. I go into a panic if I don't have it with me on a trip. (I travel a lot). My wife thought it a bit expensive when we first bought it, but now (because I travel) we actually bought a SECOND one. Now we both have it full time.

My teeth are whiter, cleaner than ever before. I initially bought the 7800 after getting my teeth cleaned at the dentist. A year later, I was in and out of the hygenist chair in just 15 minutes. They asked me what I was doing different. I said I was using the toothbrush they recommended, the Sonicare.

Oh, one other thing: when I talked to the hygenist about this toothbrush, she said she gets to try them all, and she continues to use the sonicare as her number one choice. I agree completely. GREAT TOOTHBRUSH. Spend the money, you'll be happy you did.

Customer Review: Best 136 dollars I ever spent
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this in October for 136 dollars and I feel it has been worth the money thus far. Now to see the same model for 100, anyone who is unsure whether or not it's a good investment, I assure you, you will enjoy brushing your teeth. As others have said, your teeth truely feel like you came from the dentist, and it is very gentle on your gums. My dentist was impressed and I boasted about my sonicare. The hygenist who works with her instantly remarked at how much she loved her sonicare. Someone in another review remarked that you can't brush your tongue with it, but if you really stiffen your tounge out it cleans it completely, much more efficiently than a manual brush or tongue scraper. If you're wondering how it works, an electromagnet in the handle causes two magnets on the end of the brush head to twist the metal shaft in the brush head back and fourth tens of thousands of times per minute. Therefore the sonicare brushes with the grain of your teeth while holding the brush horozontally, unlike any other brush on the market.

Customer Review: The set only lasts as long as its battery - we had to throw ours out after three years
Summary: 1 Stars

Following the recommendation of friends, we bought our very first electric toothbrush and have been very satisfied with the quality of the brushing. We have, however, been sorely disappointed by the shelf-life of this product. Had we known how short the product life is we would not have invested the money into a Sonicare product. The set with two heads cost over $100. Every 6 months we bought two replacement heads for over $20. Three years into using the product, the battery died. Upon calling the manufacturer, we were informed that the battery life should be 5 to 7 years; the warranty is only 2 years; the battery cannot be replaced and all we can do is throw away our still-functioning base and purchase a brand-new unit. So beware, if you put your hard-earned dollars into this expensive product, it may only last three years and the manufacturer will not lift a finger to ensure you get the impression that this is just a buy and throw-away product. Based on this experience we have no desire to invest in another Sonicare product.

Customer Review: Really does help avoid gum disease
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought an Elite 7500 model because that's what the store had, but I don't think there were many differences in the 7300 and the 7500. I wish I'd had this toothbrush a year or more ago. Maybe I wouldn't have the degree of gum disease I do now. I bought my first and only Sonicare model after very high recommendations by my periodontist. After being examined by her the first time in June, I went back after having used the Sonicare consistently in September. The difference in the two exam's results was phenomenal! The dentist couldn't stop remarking over it! I had pockets of some degree or another around 80% of my teeth; on the 2nd visit, this had been reduced to about 10%, it was that effective on my teeth AND gums. I love the "massage" feeling while I'm brushing too. There's been absolutely no mechanical problems with any part of it, or any "cosmetic" flaws, after 4 months of use, still looks brand new! I now have TWO dentists raving about the condition of my teeth! (And my primary dentist is NOT known for his raving.)

Customer Review: Teeth feel like glass
Summary: 5 Stars

My dental hygenist recommended Sonicare Elite because I was brushing too vigorously and making my gums receed. No matter what toothbrush or paste, including straight baking soda, I tried, they never felt clean enough. I took her advice and got one that day. WOW! I couldn't believe how clean my teeth were after 2 minutes. They stay clean much longer and my gums are no longer getting scrubbed too hard. Sonicare is so gentle on your gums and just glides over your teeth. I got a pack of extra heads and my husband tried it and said his teeth felt as clean as leaving the dentist. The extra heads are not what I thought they would be like. You get the collers that screw on the main unit, not just the toothbrush head. That's kindof nice for hygenical purposes though. I agree with other reviews. You probably will still need a way to brush your tongue. Sonicare just doesn't seem to work for that. Overall a major improvement over any other toothbrush! I really think it will save money on dental work in the future.
