Customer Reviews of Philips Sonicare HX6932/10 FlexCare RS930 Rechargeable Electric ToothbrushCustomer Review: Not as good as my original Sonicare Summary: 2 Stars
I had the original sonicare which served me well for many years till the electronics quit.
Got this new flexcare but I am disappointed. First of all it is not as vigorous a vibration as the original so it does not feel like it is cleaning as well.
That is not the worst part though. There is a defect. Perhaps just mine or perhaps systemic. If I press more that just a little the vibration stops. Sometimes I barely put any pressure at all. It has gotten worse over time. I can get around it by putting my finger on the back of the brush stem so it does not move back and press up against whatever it is inside that stops the. These things are sealed so I don't want to crack the thing open and try fix it.
Considering how much I paid for this model I am very disappointed. My recommendation is to get the less expensive models. Either the one that takes the same brush heads or the one that uses the screw on angled brush head. The multiple settings, buttons, and LED's on this thing are just useless gimmicks IMHO. I guarantee you the only setting you need and will use is the normal one!
The UV sanitizer is perhaps a bit more useful but still not necessary.
One other thing with sonicare in general. You have to buy the expensive sonicare replacement heads and these heads are designed to not last too long. The newer ones even more so IMHO. The razor manufacturers play the same tricks but I digress.
Customer Review: we like it Summary: 4 Stars
We bought this to replace a very old Sonicare that finally stopped working. The new one is lighter and smaller, and the performance is great--our teeth get really clean. We also like that the new brush head design uses much less plastic and metal, so there's less waste. On these two points, it gets five stars. But why is it that companies nearly always tack on a bunch of bells and whistles and don't quite design for the way people really use the product? We don't see any real need for the massage and sensitive settings and just use the standard one. The go-care (about one minute instead of two) can be helpful. What's really annoying, though, is that while the brush is running, the silver button is too easy to touch, so we end up in the sensitive or the massage modes unless we're careful to hold the wand at the far end. We have used the UV sanitizer, but, of course, there's really no way to tell how well that works. The little travel charger, which we used on a recent trip, is handy, but it would be nice if it had a couple of pegs to store the brushes on. Normally, the brushes are evidently meant to be stored within the sanitizer, and the sanitizer run every time the brushes are used. But we prefer to just leave the brushes out in the air most of the time and also not have the charger (most likely) sucking electricity constantly. The brushes do stand up on their own on the counter, although they're fairly easy to knock over.
Customer Review: Beware Summary: 5 Stars
My dentist she recommended this toothbrush which according to her would help my gengivitis. I did some research since I was confused with all the different models and I wanted to get a best buy - the best for my money. As part of the research I called Philips and told them my intention to get it on Ebay. The young man adviced me to get it through Amazon, since they honor the warranty b/c they have no way of knowing who sells them on Ebay or where they get their toothbrushes.
Since I am so used to buying on Ebay, I continued my search with them and finally ordered the one I was sure was a best buy. I just made sure I'd check the reputation of the seller which was good and ask them if the box was sealed. She responded that yes, it was closed and brand new...
I just received my best buy. Not only the box was not sealed... but the hard plastic inside had been broken (which means it has been opened and taken out) but also the battery had been charged and the small wire that holds together the electric cords had been messed with.
Now I am left with doubts... I already contacted the seller telling her that I am contacting her before I write the feedback to allow her the chance to make amends but I am facing now a situation which I could have avoided had I listened to the young guy at Philips.
So, just so you know! Maybe, if I get lucky, it has NOT been used. YUCK!
Customer Review: Best toothbrush there is ... but it breaks Summary: 1 Stars
Update to the below: I've been on hold for 35 minutes and counting, trying to get warranty support for my broken toothbrush. (Figure I may as well write this as I wait.) I guess that gives you an idea of Phillips' customer service...
I absolutely love Sonicare toothbrushes and have used them for nearly 10 years, always getting rave reviews at semi-annual dentist checkups. In short, these are the absolute best toothbrushes for dental care. Every time you use it, you feel like you just stepped out of the dentist's office after a cleaning (except there's no pain!)
When I purchased my Flexcare in September 2009, I'd owned three Sonicares before (two Advances over a several-year period, each lasting 3-4 years, which in my mind is OK, and one of the battery-operated ones for extended travel, since the older models didn't have dual-voltage chargers).
The Flexcare was the best of all of them so far, both in streamlined design, charger size, dual-voltage capability and brush head design.
However, after 11 months, it began turning on by itself in the middle of the night. Within a week, it was completely dead.
I hate to give such a great product only one star, but to pay that much for something and have it last less than a year is inexcusable. We'll see how tough the customer service routine is to get a replacement ...
Customer Review: Don't buy!!!! Summary: 1 Stars
I originally bought this brush back in 2007. The first two years it worked fine, but then all of sudden the brush heads started slipping off of the brush into my mouth. So I bought replacement heads (for way too much money)and the same happened with those three. I assumed after two years it was broken so I bought a new one. For the first three months it worked fine. Then, again, the brush heads started to slide off again. Again, I bought the replacement pack of heads. They all started to slide off. The second one in my pack CHIPPED MY TOOTH. So now I figured I had a serious problem here. I called customer support to see what the problem was. They told me that miraculously I was the only person who had ever contacted that particular support staff with the brush head problem. That I was the reason stating that I was taking off and replacing the brush heads incorrectly. How can that be if they only fit on one way? She said if I had kept my receipt then they could move the case to the escalation team. Sadly, not thinking I was going to have problems with a $100 toothbrush, I didn't keep it. My mistake. I trusted a multi-million dollar corporation and it's product to stand behind said product. Oh well, I would recommend a safer $15 spin-brush. At least those won't fly off into your mouth. Or, buy a $3 regular brush. It was good enough for generations before us!
