Customer Reviews of Philips Sonicare HX7002/62 e-Series Standard Replacement Brush Heads, 2-PackCustomer Review: Sonic Care Elite hits home run Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased the SonicCare Elite toothbrush in December 2006. My Dental Hygienist recommended it. I am a traditional kind of guy and resisted for a while but finally relented and came into the 21st Century of dental care! What an experience. Since that time my cleanings have been much quicker and easier, and my teeth feel sparkling, fresh, and have that "just cleaned feeling" all the time. Best of all my teeth and gums are healthier too. To keep the brush working in top form, you have to replace the brush heads every 6 months. They are quite expensive but worth every penney. If you want to have healthier teeth and gums and minimize your dental expenses, you will be very pleased with the SonicCare Elite brush and regular refills! Don't be stuck in the 20th Century of dental health......Buy a SonicCare Elite and refills today.
In December 2008 I upgraded to a Sonicare Flex-care system. The Elite switch failed and was very poorly designed. The new Flexcare handle incorporates a new switch design and the who brush head is smaller, attaches more easily to the handle, is less to throw away when used up, and does a better job.
Customer Review: Sonicare More Effective Than Oral B in NWU Study Summary: 5 Stars
My best friend has been raving about his Sonicare Elite for over a year now-- encouraging me to try it. I did a little research and saw that OralB had a similar product and wondered which had a better product-- Sonicare or Oral B. My friend finally convinced me that the Sonicare product is superior, and then I read a review on Amazon from a hygenist who said that she went to a continuing education seminar and learned that Oral B was found to be superior...
At that point, I decided to do some research. I found a Northwestern University study conducted over a 6 month period. Patients with the Sonicare did much better, but don't take my word for it. Read the study results for yourself on the National Institute of Health web site:
[...]
"Overall, this study demonstrates that long-term use of these two electric toothbrushes improves periodontal health in adult periodontitis patients, and that the Sonicare brush is superior to the Braun [Oral B] brush in reducing gingival inflammation and probing depth. Moreover, 6 months' use of Sonicare led to actual improvement in probing attachment levels of periodontal pockets."
Customer Review: Can't manage without it! Summary: 5 Stars
My dental care has been much easier and more fun since I got a Philips Sonicare Elite about two years ago. I know my brushing is longer and more thorough and with less effort.
I use the subscription service to purchase new brush heads. The subscription service has been great. I get two new brush heads per month to re-supply 4 toothbrushes - one at home, one at work, one for my husband, and one for my mother, i.e. I start a new brush head at least every two months.
A new brush head feels so good!
Concerns:
(1) The rubber on/off switch on my Philips Sonicare Elite toothbrush at home is starting to tear around the edges and cave in. I am afraid that water will soon leak in and short out the battery.
(2) The joint where the handle screws into the brush head leaks water into the handle, which if not cleaned daily can produce a foul smell. Thus I clean it daily.
All in all, I am very happy with this product.
Customer Review: The Best Toothbrush Around Summary: 5 Stars
I started using Philips Sonicare on the behest of my dentist and oral hygienist. I purchased the cheaper model to start with just because I couldn't afford the more expensive elite. My wife started directly with the Elite, and it was her prompting that moved me to upgrade. I have never disliked that decision.
I find the Elite the best of the two models available. It's curved head and speed have made my hygienist sing my praises for teeth that are plague free. My dentist believes that not only did the Elite model improve my oral care but that the decrease for the need for filings was the best (I agree since I don't particularly care to have my face drilled on too often).
The cost of the Elite replacement brushes is minimal and the brushes last for quite some time if one does not use them to provide the conventional kind of brushing that is not needed with this battery charged tooth brush.
Customer Review: yuck Summary: 1 Stars
Have you ever tried to clean the sonicare? All the crevices and places for water and germs to seep is too much. I'm a public health nurse and I think it's a haven for germs. I tried to clean it and the brush was still good but I couldn't remove the mildewy smell despite 20 minutes of scrubbing it with (yes) an old regular toothbrush to get into the crevices.
I'll look for another but won't be surprized if I cannot find an electric one that doesn't have similar problems.
One more thing- this electric brush also isn't the best for people with disabilities who rely on others for cleaning their toothbrushes.
I've wondered if there will be a tooth brush disease to be discovered like legionnaires someday.
Hello tooth brush companies- if you tout how easy it is to clean your electric toothbrush people will sit up and listen.
