I am purchasing this today since after 1 whitestrip whitening treatment, some small white dots appeared on several of my perfect teeth. I know whitening can cause temporary dehydration of your teeth possibly resulting in these spots, however, I have been responsibly using whitening strips for maintenance (one or two whitestrip treatments every few months!) for years without this strange, new occurence.
Apparently, these spots diminish over a couple of weeks. My dentist recommended Phos-Flur saying it has shown to possibly reduce these white spots, including the white spots from other causes, and it will also help protect and strengthen my teeth if it is a beginning stage of tooth decay, so I am willing to give it a try for the sake of keeping my teeth perfect! My smile is very important to me!
As for the reviewer saying that this product is overpriced to keep money in dentist's pockets and that of course a dentist would recommend it....That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. So this reviewer evidently believes that the profit made off of this specific product gets divided between the millions of dentists across the country that had nothing to do with the production! LOL is all I have to say about that. If this reviewer truly believed that, they would not purchase the generic either!
I haven't looked at the generic yet, but believe me, I will be comparing every single active and inactive ingredient between the two. I am a strong believer in generics, but I want to make sure the generic is actually for this specific product and not something similar. Check the label - both active and inactive ingredients - also check what brand of product it's compared to.
