Living 70 miles from a nuclear power plant, it feels good having these pills in all my first aid kits, including my auto kit. Also, I noticed in the Life Extension article on potassium iodide, the listing of all nuclear plants puts about 8 plants within 500 miles of Dallas and radioactive fallout can travel that far. The terrorist they just arrested last week had our local nuclear power plant on his "hit" list. Regarding this product, I like the flat, foil, blister pack that it is packaged in; makes it easy to fit into a cramped first aid kit. The only dissapointment is that the "use by" date is 7/2012. But, since they are less than $6, not such a big deal.
Important: If you wait until disaster is imminent, its TOO LATE; they will be sold out. Prepare ahead of time (true with any emergency situation); I had no trouble getting my order in February before the Japan disaster... promt delivery at $5.23 per package free shipping.. awesome deal.
Also note, you get 14 tablets, 130 mg each. That is the recommened daily dose for an adult. Instructions for dividing the pill for children and newborns is included.
I dont know why the description says "pack of 2". You get one package with a blister pack containing 14 pills. Get several so they will be available when you need them. They work best when taken BEFORE exposure.
