Customer Reviews of Prestige Clinical Cardiology Stethoscope

Customer Review: suprised me!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this Prestige Clinical Cardiology stethescope because I wanted a good stethescope for a decent price and this doesn't dissapoint. I was a little bit weary and a little bit scared that I would be very dissapointed since this doesn't have the name Littman on it, but dont be afraid to get this. For the price it is such a bargin compared to littman. I used my girlfriends Littman Classic II as a comparison and boy does this stethoscope blow it out of the water. The clarity of this stethoscope compared to the littman is unprecedented. I listened to my dad's murmur with this stethescope and boy could you hear it with such clarity. The volume of this stethescope is also very loud. Dont be afraid to buy this stethescope, with the price and the quality you can't go wrong.

Edit: Also it comes with a pediatric diaphragm that you can easily change so that you can still retain the bell function

Customer Review: prestige clinical cardiology stethoscope
Summary: 4 Stars

the clarity of sound is very good. I have a littman lightweight and couldn't hear minute sounds like lung sound but this prestige allows me to hear crackles, wheezes and heart murmurs clearly. Additional pediatric diaphram and bell add more function. Overall the value and clarity outshine the minor drawbacks.

One drawback is the stiff hose so your ear piece tend to shift in your ear as you move the other end to listen. I usually just move my head along. Another drawback is the weight and bulky size of the bell/diaphram. I don't use the bell much at all so I just unscrew it off (feature to change the diaphram/bell). Lastly there seems to be some plays (slight looseness) where the bell/diaphram connect with the hose.

Customer Review: poor quality
Summary: 1 Stars

I recently bought this stethascope as a less expensive alternative to the Litman cardiology I had that finally broke after a good 4 years of use. Although it had the look and lumen thickness similar to the Litman, with fairly good diaphram, the bell side had terrible quality. Also it would try to twist on you while in the ears make it very uncomfortable. The last straw was when the eartip split after just 2 weeks of use. I have returned it to Amazon and ordered a duplicate of my original Litman Cardiology that I know is a great product. It'll be 150% more money, but well worth it.

Customer Review: Slightly Disappointed
Summary: 3 Stars

I bought this product based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews. The stethoscope, itself, is not bad. I work in an ambulance in a very busy system and use it dozens of times a day. Lung sounds are audible, but not as loud as my Littman (Classic II, not cardiology).
The rubber ring around the bell also keeps falling off, not sure why it does that, but very annoying to fumble with your stethoscope in front of a patient!
Overall, it is worth the money and I am happy with my purchase, I just wouldn't say it is the best stethoscope I have owned.

Customer Review: OK stethoscope, bad eartips
Summary: 3 Stars

This is not a bad stethoscope (I actually like it quite a bit), but the rubber eartips are of poor quality. I used both sets (it comes with 2 sets of the eartips) within first few months. They had cracked and fell apart (as if the rubber was too old and dry). Amazon customer service did not do anything for it and redirected me to the Prestige medical customer Service. I tried to contact Prestige medical several times with no luck, but eventually they responded. They offered free eartip replacement. Will see how long this set lasts.
