i bought this with a humidifier that i also ordered on amazon, because it suggested it to help keep the tank clean. i used it and havnt really noticed it doing anything. as long as you regularly change the water and periodicly clean your filter i dont see why you would need one of these. it was just kind of pointless.Customer Review: Good but over priced

I have found that the pricing is 20% higher than what I can get at the retail store. Plus I would have to pay shipping. So it's more than 20% higher. Otherwise, the product itself seems to be working fine. It's one of those things where you would have to use it for a month to find out whether it works or not.Customer Review: A must have for humidifiers!

I don't know how they work, exactly but they DO work! I've had them in the tank for 2 winters now and they definitely help the filters stay cleaner and last longer and there is no white bulid-up on the tank EVER!
They are well worth the money--I know they look funny but believe me, they work!

This product (ProTec Humidifier Antibacterial Cartridge) is horrible, within days of using them, caused severe upper respiratory inflammation with all household members including inflammatory response of the tonsils, sinuses and ear canals. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH!Customer Review: It's OK

I always used these in the humidifier, because they are recommended by the nmanufacturer and my humidifier has a special holder for it.
However, they have a relatively short recommended life - 4 fillings and are relatively pricey, so for the cost/benefit I am rating it OK.
