Customer Review: misleading, not anti-bacterial

I used this with a new filter for less than a month and found that bacteria was present and the filter needed to be replaced. I will be using a liquid bacteriostat from now on.

The description for this cartridge says that it "provides continuous protection against mold and bacteria" with its "Aquastat" antimicrobial technology. If you read the literature that comes with it, however, it says that it prevents microbe growth *in the cartridge*. Not in your humidifier. It's not an antimicrobial cartridge; it's a demineralization cartridge.

It's amazing how whenever anyone asks - "where am I ever going to find that? or says, "I can't find those anywhere," how my instant reply is "go to Amazon.com, they have everything! They will get you to wherever it is you need to be to find whatever it is that you want!" My last order of ProTec PC-1 Humidifier Tank Cartridges (which you can NOT find anywhere else)came in the usual perfect timely manner and in perfect condition!

This is a fast and easy way to keep the water in a 2-gallon sized humidifier clean and relatively free of mold or mineral deposits during seasonal use. It may not be 100% effective, but I noticed a big difference from last year (before I started to use this). The cartridges are inexpensive and I change them once a month for 4 months during the winter season - frees me up to just do the major manual cleaning before I put the humidifier away for the season. I'm glad I discovered this product - now I don't dread the maintenance.Customer Review: Highly misleading

The product is what I expected, and the price was good for the advertised quantity. However, the packers at Amazon must have misunderstood the quantity description, or possibly the description was truncated. I was supposed to receive a pack of 3 packages. Each package has 2 cartridges. The packers sent me only two packages in the shipping container. Also, the packing slip did not include a customer service phone number.
