Customer Review: Good relief without the financial investment of professional arch supports!

I am in my late 50s and, from wearing very high shoes in my early career as a secretary in the Pentagon where I had to walk extensively, my feet are a wreck. I have arthritis in my feet which cause me pain and, unless I support my arches, I have even more pain than usual. I knew I should probably go to a podiatrist and have some professional arch supports or other inserts made but, as a new retiree, I didn't want to spend the money.
I originally found these orthotics in my local grocery store, where I paid considerably more for the pack of 2 than is being charged here on Amazon (though you'll pay shipping to buy them here and I didn't). Not long after I bought them, I was going to a benefit event on a hot summer day and wanted to wear sandals, but was concerned how I would make it standing throughout the event. I slipped these orthotics inside my sandals and, even though they didn't always stay put as they do in closed shoes, they got me through the event being on my feet the entire time.
I usually wear them inside sneakers that are good quality but just don't have enough arch support for me. In fact, I just came back from a week-long vacation in California where I walked for morning to night for 7 days straight touring Yosemite National Park and San Francisco, and these inserts were in my shoes much of the time (I brought 2 pairs of sneakers because I knew I'd be walking a lot, and the orthotics only fit in 1 pair, so I wasn't able to wear them every day).
If you're having foot pain, especially from under-supported arches, I would highly recommend these less expensive orthotics as a first step before spending hundreds of dollars on professional orthotics! You might not need to go further.
