Customer Review: Great product, excellent for help with arthritis

I puchased this first for my mother to help with her arthritis and then for myself to help with extreme dry skin. It is well worth the lower price at which it has been available. The price skyrockets from time to time, but usually comes down again. Watch for the lower price before buying.
The heat therapy helped my mother's hands tremendously. After each use, the pain is diminished and she has a dramatic increase in range of motion. This seems to last for the entire day. I've also found that it definitely makes my skin much softer and makes my own hands feel less stiff even though I don't have arthritis.
The reasons for my 4 star review rather than 5 are as follows:
1) Clean-up is somewhat difficult, especially for someone with arthritis. My mother will not use the product if I am not there to help.
2) The temperature of the wax is quite hot. This is what makes it effective, but it is only just bareable. People should be warned of this beforehand. I even allowed it to cool to the point of the wax beginning to re-harden. I'd recommend doing a very quick dip at first, let it cool for a few seconds and then re-dip. The first dip will form a type of protective coating making the other dips feel not *quite* so hot.
and 3) My paraffin bath was not very well protected in shipping. I've ordered from Amazon many times without any problem, but found this particular shipment to be uncharacteriscally beaten up. The outer "Amazon" box was dented in and almost coming apart. The inner paraffin bath box was also dented and partially ripped. Luckily the bath inside was not damaged, but it wouldn't have been a nice package to give as a gift.
In summary: Good product for the $ (as long as you can get the lower price of approx. $25). Just be warned that cleanup is a bit messy and the wax will feel quite hot to the touch even after a cool-off period.
