Customer Reviews of REVLON MoistureStay Fast Heat Up Luxury Paraffin Bath RVS1212Customer Review: Great for arthritis hands Summary: 5 Stars
I have osteo and rheumatoid arthritis in my hands, & when my doctor prescribed hand therapy the paraffin bath was a main component of it. Having this product at home allows me to use it every day if I want. I guess it paid for itself in that I don't go to the therapy sessions any more. Note: I couldn't break up the wax blocks as instructed but it really wasn't necessary. The big chunks melted just fine.
This unit replaces an older model(different brand) and is quite an improvement! I absolutely love the fact that it heats up so fast. With my old one you had to anticipate a day in advance if you wanted to use it. I highly recommend this if you have achy hands or just want a nice home spa treatment. It's especially soothing as a "reward" after gardening or painting or other heavy chores.
The on-off switch is a little wobbly. The mitts are soft, easy to put on. Lid is easy to handle even with mitts on. Being able to adjust the level of heat (high-medium-low-keep warm) is a useful feature. I also love the lavender/white color and graceful shape. It's attractive enough to be sitting out all the time.
Customer Review: Revlon Paraffin Bath Summary: 4 Stars
This paraffin bath is inexpensive and works wonders on my hands and feet. I just got it a few days ago and I have already used it 5 times. My hands and feet immediately feel softer and smoother. The first dipping of your feet can be really Hot, if you do not leave it on the keep warm setting for at least 10 minutes before dipping your feet in the wax. The first dipping is always the hottest but once you get to the recommended fifth dipping, you cannot feel the heat any more.
If you use this paraffin as much as I do, be sure to order extra wax. I picked up Gifi Mango Wax with Shea Butter at my local beauty supply store for about five dollars a pound.
I usually store the wax in my paraffin bath, and so far that has not been a problem, but toss out the wax I peel off my hands and feet.
This unit has saved me lots of money, because at the spa this treatment is very expensive.
Customer Review: Wonderful product Summary: 5 Stars
I am a hard sell, having tried just about everything to help with dry hands and cracked cuticles. This bath was cheap enough that I was willing to try another gadget and its working beautifully. FINALLY something that works. Tried creams, vitamin E oil with cotton gloves for nightwear, biotin, special shower filter. But when your job requires hand washing every 30 minutes and you live in the frigid north where today its -28 wind chill, there is not much that works. I have been using it for 20 days now and even the whorls of my fingertips are smooth. Oh, to put on the glove liners, don't try inserting your hand in, rather put the end of the bag at your fingertips and roll the bag over your hand. I have done my feet as well. Its rather small for feet but it works for my size 7s. Its a nice product for the price and very easy to use. I hope it holds up to daily use. So far, so good.
Customer Review: Excellent value Summary: 5 Stars
I love my paraffin bath - for just abut $30 this product has already paid for itself many times over and I've only had it for two weeks! I use this paraffin bath at least daily, sometimes multiple times a day and it is easy to use and so soothing. I have very dry skin and in the past two weeks I have decreased my hand lotion usage due to the paraffin dips:) Amazon also has the best prices on replacement wax as far as I've seen and I am amazed that for $30 all told at home I can have the same spa treatment I would get for $20 per visit to the nail place. I bought my mom one of the professional grade industrial strength spas (bc of her arthritis) and if I were to use it several times a day like she does I would recommend the hospital grade, but for my use I find the Revlon Spa to be an excellent value and am looking forward to many more uses this season.
Customer Review: soothing and smoothing Summary: 5 Stars
I love this thing! This is such a treat to use. I find the wax melts very fast after the first time - before I put it away, when the wax is semi-hardened, I run a butter knife around the edges... and I get dip-able wax in about 30-40 minutes when I reheat it on high setting.
It feels good and my hands look good, very soft and smooth and I also use it for my feet. Interestingly, my feet seem to hold the heat for quite a while after I peel the wax off. The first several times I used it, I didn't see any real changes - it just felt so good I kept using it - but now my feet are looking smoother than I've ever seen them. I now understand why people get these treatments at spas. My cuticles are no longer dry and splitting either.
I came back to order another one for a friend and I see they are out of stock on the $25 price. :(
