Customer Reviews of Rainshow'r Series 3000 Crystal Ball for the BathCustomer Review: Works great in hard water Summary: 5 Stars
I live in West Texas and we have "extremely hard". It is foul-smelling, bitter and salty water. It's hard on your teeth, hair and skin. No amount of lotion, oil or gel could ease my families dry skin. Then my daughter started showing signs of eczema on her knees and multiple episodes of cradle cap. So, I decided to get a water softner. It worked great but when we moved we couldn't take the softner with us. So, I found the bath ball and decided to give it a try. It has been great!! After swirling the filter for a few minutes the water goes from slighty hazy with a strong cholrine smell to perfectly clear and no smell. It was wonderful!! My daughter skin has responded better to the creams prescribed for her and there is no dry, itchy skin after her bath. The same goes for me and my cracked dry feet. My husband has yet to try it, he is a shower man!! I am not saying this filter cured our skin issues but it removed the cholrine and other minerals that was drying our skin out and keeping the lotions and cream we buy from working at their best. The 5-8 minutes you spend swirling the bath ball goes really fast and you can keep it in the tub while you bathe. It so easy to use, just open th box, swirl it in the tub and hang to dry. It really does work and if you have hard water it is worth every penny. It;s cheaper than a water softner or other filter and it lasts for 200 baths (depending on water). That rounds off to about 15 cents a bath!!
Customer Review: good product with a few setbacks Summary: 3 Stars
First of all this product definately works! I can tell a difference in the health of my skin and hair after only a few uses and i can even open my eyes under the bath water. something i could not do before because they were burned by the chlorine. However, this product is a little more trouble than its product description lets on. According to the description: "The ball can be swished in the water for 2 minutes or placed under the faucet" but the instruction manual clearly states: "The crystal ball was not designed to be hung from the bath tub faucet." Also, it states that the ball must be swirled through the tub for 5 to 8 minutes before entering. yes, sit by the tub and play with this ball for about 8 minutes every time you want to take a bath! Also, if you want to take a bubble bath or use bath oils or espon salts, you must wait until the tub is filled and the crystal ball is used before adding them, which pretty much means no bubble baths, how is the bubble bath going to foam if you can't poor it under the running water? Don't get me wrong this product works, just make sure you have a few extra minutes before your bath every time you want to use it.
Customer Review: Dechlorinator Ball Summary: 5 Stars
i was VERY skeptical about this product at first, but figured i would give it a try. my 15 month old son has eczema really bad, and i put off giving him a bath for as long as possible, because he just dries out even more and turns red and is miserable. i use a very good brand of organic lotion after every bath, and at least 5 times a day, and i use breast milk to clean the dry and open areas of his skin. but i knew it was the water that was irritating him. so, i gave this a shot. now he actually gets to play in the bath every day. sometimes twice! i use the ball for my baths every now and again, but mostly it's for my baby boy. it's so nice to know that i can use this and get up to 100% of the chlorine out. that's one more chemical not on nor in my baby. i would recommend this to everybody, especially ones with sensitive skin.
Customer Review: Works OK but complicated Summary: 3 Stars
I have a lot of chlorine in my water and found these chlorine balls that seemed like a great idea. The way they desribe them is that you hang it over the spigot so that the water runs through the ball then after your tub is full, swish it around for 2-3 minutes. Well, the instructions say to not let the water run through it and you have to swish it around in your tub for up to 8 minutes. I did this for the first few baths then just didn't want to deal with 8 minutes of my life swishing the ball around. When I did take the time, I did notice a difference in my water but it's just an inconvenience. I have a garden tub so I always think I have to swish a little longer because I have more water than the average tub. It's been sitting on the side of my tub now unused for 3 months.
Customer Review: Does the job, minus the plastic part. Summary: 4 Stars
I'm happy with this item, except for that the plastic ball wont stay clasped, and won't stay on. However, this doesn't take away from the product working at all, and honestly that clunky ball is a big much anyways! I simply took the plastic off, and use the pouch. I definitely notice a HUGE difference in how my skin and hair feel, and can definitely tell that it's working. (I also use a shower filter, so my baths pre-bath ball, left me itchy and dry).
Decent product, the plastic enclosure could use a redesign, though. That being said, I didn't buy the product for the enclosure, I bought it to clean my bath water. If I could give it a 4.9 I would.. I just can't give it a full five due to the clasp problem. If you're considering this product, I'd say buy it!
